I was impressed by that because he was also clearly trying to be creative. I like how he took the knees at 1:12 from going over to the ribs to under into the thigh. Pretty cool to mix it up. I only box so I don't watch KB/MT a lot but I don't recall noticing someone go high/low like that before with knees in the clinch.

The sparring at 13:55 is class 👌🏽- complete different weight classes but so tactically done. For the big guy it’s be able to catch someone faster than you and for the slightly smaller guy he’s having to withstand blows from a heavier and bigger opponent. Wicked stuff!!

The one thing that I notice is that sparring in Thailand people are very playful yet technical. In the UK the vibe is more aggressive.

some gyms do adopt the more thai style however a lot do push a little harder, maybe the boxing influence but also thai fighters do fight very regular so it makes sense to spar light.

Not trying to start a female male discussion here but: I get a different satisfaction watching men and women hard sparring, with men (at least I this video) you could see they were sort of winging it, trying to enter the fabled flow state. And the women were trying to implement what they knew and get better at it, ultimately it's that way for both but the women in my opinion do it better, the guys do it when it feels right, I hope I'm making sense.

Your looking for the thai style of sparring, they spar that way because they fight so frequently the Brits/uk don't. The Brits/uk fight when they can, most are full time fighters work regular jobs and go to school, so sparring hard like this helps them because it keeps the intensity level high and balanced. So when they do fight their physically and mentally prepared, I understand both sides. If I was fighting frequently I would adopt the thai style, every few months ill do it this way. Their really is no right or wrong way to spar.

@@lucaquattrocchi1638 I love light and flowy sparring and would like to do it after every training session, if u constantly training and don't have a fight lined up thats the best way to go health and timing wise. But I would rather spar hard if I haven't trained or sparred in week or 2. If I'm getting ready for a fight then I would wanna spar hard once a week up into 2-3 weeks from the fight then just hit pads. But either way you need both, if u get into a situation on the street u can't be playing patty cake with the guy its kill or be killed.
