I love how at he crashes into the fence like he's about to give up. But at 3:23 you hear the soundtrack, "The Beast", from the first movie playing. And he just refuses to die. It's almost as if that little voice in his head tells him to keep going to seek his revenge. Sort of like giving into all the hate and violence within him. It's like the "beast" or devil whispering in his ear telling him to keep going. At this point he's just a man fueled by anger, violence, and revenge. A beast who just refuses to die because he's so angry. His soul is more beast than man here.
@alatus72426 жыл бұрын
Well, a head wound is much more survivable than people think it is. Even when the brain is involved. In his case it was just the upper jaw. A person cannot simply die from a concussion and some bleeding in the mouth, even if he wanted to. His tongue was also apparently intact. At worst he could have fainted for a while and then come to again. Unfortunately, I am talking from some personal observations - suiciders should stick to shooting themselves in the heart when using 9mm rounds.
@joelees20876 жыл бұрын
I think the point is that he was on the verge of death from dehydration/combined with being beat up and blood loss, but he found a will to keep going. Man would’ve been exhausted
@alatus72426 жыл бұрын
I get the point and I also got the artistic hint with the string bass that this is Alejandro and not an ordinary man. However, dehydration does not become deadly within a single day. Moreover it helps with wounds since the blood thickens. What I mean is that to me surviving this ordeal was not at all far fetched - people are capable of surviving a lot of damage.

Filip Bachta also the kids future could have been him getting strangled as soon as the door shut ended the scene. Or it could be him flipping the kid making him an informant. He controls the kid, most of the leadership of that cartel or that sect was decimated. He has a good opportunity to move into leadership. Alejandro could use that for a lot of things. He can turn one cartel against the others, get information on his enemies movements, and use the cartel for protection. That’s the smart move considering he can put a bullet in him anytime he wants.

Probably the first time I've seen a grenade in a movie where the pin wasn't a delicate little piece of flimsy metal that you can pull out with your teeth or with minimal ease. The pins actually take significant and deliberate effort to remove. It is all that keeps the bomb from exploding after all.

As a true method actor, Benicio del Toro insisted using only live grenades for this scene. Or so I heard

One of my favorite movie scenes of all time. This scene helped me get through my own intense physical pain and suffering; I watched it on repeat. I love how he drives up on that embankment and stops for a moment before continuing to drive. I love the very end scene as well where he calmly tells the new Sicario to “sit down” and the fact that there is a whole story in between this scene and the very end that you never get to see - how he gets back into the world and how he recovers. The next time you see him he is dressed in a suit and has only a scar on his cheek as proof of what he went through.

the director apparently changed the script. Taylor Sheridan supposedly wrote that Alejandro was just going to wage kinda a one man war on the bosses of the guy he killed at the end of the first movie. Since they were the ones who apparently gave orders to attack his family/him. But the director apparently saw logan and was like " I wanna do that".

This movie was excellent. Benicio del Toro is such an amazing actor. It's only shadow was the fact that the first movie was such a masterpiece and probably one of the best movies ever produced, so this one didn't get the same praise it deserved. The same problem happened with the Series True Detective. The first season was so awesome that the second and third ones were still excellent, but had the shadow looming over them.
