Next time you need to plug a tire, make sure it's fully aired up first, the plug will go in easier and the air helps to push it out against the inside of the tire too.

@@js7127 they are both amazing in their own rights but the two cars aren't even comparable. First off Craig Sullivan's car isn't a drag & drive deal, it runs 1/8th mile in the pro mod class in NMCA along with a few outlaw races IE snowbirds, WSOP etc. it's also significantly lighter and with the size of the fuel cell and the fact that it's a race only purpose built screw blown hemi means it would make it about five minutes up the road before it ran out of methanol. If you were gonna race the two cars heads up the Camaro wouldn't have a chance, bailey usually runs 4.0's to 3.90's whereas the mercury runs consistent 3.60's (1/8th mile of course) Both badass cars nonetheless

leave the bars higher. if it's going straight let the thing transfer a little bit rather than unload on them by being by forced into the surface sooner. if you drop the tire pressure, you can't leave the bars at the same height as a higher pressure. the ride height changes. raise the tp to 5.9 or 6.O to reduce the after launch shake. it went straight and stuck on that second hit. it's wadding the tires from the power coming in after launch causing the shake. up the tp if it will hold the track, and have a go.... or pull a degree of timing or something in that shake window.

What if he didn't think about it from that perspective before and because of this comment it all clicks in to place, or at least gives him a direction to go towards? Tire plug The proper way is to form a ball on the inside of the tire, this requires a closed needle not the open on one side type. Use glue then insert the plug and needle just inside of the tire, rotate the needle a few turns until the tails of the plug are say 1/4" above the tire, back off 1/2 a turn then pull the needle out of the tire just enough so you can cut the plug. You will now have 4 strands of the plug in the tire and a ball on the other end preventing it from blowing out.

Tis a good thing, a nitrous car launches hard and drops off a little at the top end, a turbo car is the opposite, they gain power at the top end due to the mass of the spinning turbine wheels going faster as more exhaust is going through.

At the risk of sounding like a complete A-hole, I do need to say, that if you need to use Wheelie caster height as a tuning tool, you have very poorly designed wheelie casters. What would you say, If I could show you how to build wheelie casters that will constantly 'load' the rear tires, no matter how high the front of the car wants to climb. This would virtually eliminate tire shake, and add more forward bite. The only thing you need to decide is how much of the front suspension do you want to unload on launch.
