I mean I thought that we cure cancer in my lifetime but in my early 20s? I'm excited for this technique to be perfected

These maladies haven't been explained to me in this detail, and I am about to undergo CAR-T Immunotherapy.

Watch videos on the subject to get a better understanding. I pray you have a full remission that doesn't relapse. My prayers are with you and yours.

Hi, How are you? What medical condition do you have? How's the treatment going? I'm interested but here in my country it is not available yet. Hope you're feeling better 🪷

@@lillyrocks2011 Multiple Myeloma. Since my last post, I'm glad to report that I have achieved Multiple Myeloma's rendition of remission - minimal residual disease negative. MRD neg. That means that no monoclonal cells can be found in a random search of one million resulting from a bone marrow biopsy. It's a funky recovery process - can't drive for two months and dream hallucinations are very entertaining lol. The great news is that there is no damage to my bones, kidneys and liver, which I attribute to eating natural food (Ukrainian Borscht!), a great wife and an outdoor lifestyle. You have to want to live. Where are you from? 😁👍❤️

I'm curious about your recovery after treatment. My mom is getting this for her lymphoma this week.

@@msKita43 My understanding is that CAR-T Immunotherapy is even more effective against Lymphoma. I achieved MRD Negative (minimal residual disease, negative).

Gosh! This is enough to put you off having it! The peripheral neuropathy alone can be hard to live with. My husband has High Risk Cytogenetics, is currently ‘watch and wait’ and is considering all of his treatment options. He’s actually considering having no treatment at all as he values quality of life over quantity. But of course he understands that no treatment can also be very difficult too. 🙃😳🇬🇧

this not a cure, there is no cure……yet. car t was approved for MM in March of 2021. my husband received car t in january of 2022. in june of 2022 his MM had progressed to plasma cell leukemia. he passed in March of 2023. he fought a long hard fight. we aren’t there yet but we are going in the right direction.

@@randellpernell Yeah, this treatment is not for everyone... please do a lot of your own research and do what is best for you 🙏

@@randellpernellFrom what I've read it's not a guarantee you'll get these effects or that they'll be severe even if you do, but that's a chance you have to decide you want to take. I'm hoping this can be used to one day treat my wife's Lupus. It was kind of a last resort sort of treatment for the clinical trials but all the patients were cured and like 40% of them ended up with a mild case of CRS

Is there a cure for MM. Is death definite?

Hi! There are multiple treatment options for Myeloma. If you search "Myeloma treatments" on our website www.healthtree.org/myeloma you'll see a lot of resources available to help educate on the options Myeloma patients have!

CAR-T is an excellent therapy. I'm living with Multiple Myeloma. I have read and understand. But it does and can have serious side affects like all therapies. Progress in therapies for blood cancers have improved and are continuing to improve quality and quantity of life. Thank GOD for those brilliant minds that are used to help others.

@@Werewulff333 The aftermath is a slog. Here's how I look at it - let the wonderful oncology caregivers do their thing, and I live a sympatico lifestyle. Eat healthy, get outdoors, exercise, laugh a lot with family and friends, and enjoy every moment. Together, we're on a mission to transform MM from a deadly disease to a chronic disease. We all have our part in this effort.
