It was a wonderful conversation. I love Kirk and although I am not Christian, I was Smiling, Stomping, Imagining, and Lifting Every Voice right along with him! However, Kirk's ministry is music, not analytical study of theology. His exegesis that because a group of people changed their lifelong traditions on the word of Jesus/Isa/Isho/Yeshu(a) means that he was the son of G'd is definitely disputable. Either way, please continue these conversations -Dr- Seales. Just putting that out there btw! I see a dissertation coming.

I'm glad so many people are waking up, decolonizing their minds, and deconstructing religion (tearing down religious narratives). Everything doesn't happen for a reason, and to claim every twist of fate to have some profound meaning, particularly those rooted in poverty, oppression, and injustice, is dangerous, problematic, and a contradiction. It's this kind of thinking that blinds people to systemic issues, impedes empathy, fuels unfair judgments, and contributes to the harmful actions we see all around us.

I totally enjoyed this conversation. Their dialogue was very informative and thought-provoking based on how people need to respond based on their individual walks with their religious and/or spiritual walks. I liked their chemistry. Amanda stood in her beliefs and asked great questions and sought clarification when warranted to delve deeper to make his responses make sense from different perspectives. The comments about his behavior are representative of many things of what's wrong with our society as a whole. We've become so judgemental, assumptive, and disrespectful with double standards perceptions. Kirk's attempts at humor fell flat sometimes 😂. I do not perceive any ill-will that is being communicated in these comments. I will leave it at that. I am hoping Amanda or staff will read all comments and offer her opinion based on the overall interaction.

No surprise, great conversation. Amanda, honesty is your friend, and she serves you well! This discussion brought two questions to mind: As a former Christian who now identifies as spiritual, is it possible for individuals to be a “church” within their own orbit because of the nature of non religious, yet uplifting fellowship they engage in? Like having a bond because of their common spiritual perspectives and shared values of decency and order. Also, is it fair to say that spiritual people are sorta aligned with the beliefs of Martin Luther? Like, I feel a divine connection but I don’t identify with religion.

When have you all EVER known Amanda to not check someone if she felt offended? This is her podcast. Why would she even have aired it? Kirk was joking and trying to be apologetic, and it was awkward at some points true. But Amanda, don't play that shit period! I can understand how people can be looking with side eyes at men associated with the church due to what is in the blogs, rightfully so....but let's not jump to conclusions about what we think we see here. This is a great conversation on religion and Christianity. I took away there needs to be a deconstruction of western Christianity, I totally agree! So many people are leaving what we know as the traditional church due to it not connecting with where people are now. Bishop Carlton Pearson tried to deconstruct it before he passed.....I am discovering many trailblazers out there like him.

Hello Amanda.....thank you for confirming this. Dually noted. I stand corrected. Apologies for coming across as if I was discounting any of your fans because I am one. I figured because it was posted, all was good. That saddens me that you felt uncomfortable on your own pod. Really saddens me. I am hoping there was an apology from him you were satisfied with....Lastly, it's ironic to speak on this, see this, and be on the deconstruction path myself....it just reminds me why I am on it in the first place.

Bottom line: Kirk, in his humanity, lived out I Pet 3:15. This is how you share your faith. I am one who left the church years ago, after living under the hypocrisy (both a victim and victimizer of the faith) and have no desire to return. However, the nuggets that Kirk dropped were great and his concession on the facts of Western Christianity's failure to the world and Jesus are appreciated. We need more of this. AND please don't respond with any verses or notes trying to convince me of anything. Christ died for me! The Holy Spirit lives in my heart. And as Kirk taught/reminded us of some words from Martin Luther, I don't need man to get to God. God called me to Himself. Thanks Amanda!
