To me the point of a spare mag is less about ammo capacity and more about a potential mag failure. I also feel like sidecar holster conceal better than gun only holsters because the gun only holster only protrudes on one side which is more noticeable. A sidecar goes edge to edge on my body so it’s more consistent and therefore prints less

That’s very interesting that the sidecar holster conceals better on you. What holster brand do you use and have you ever tried tenicor?

I actually run both. Thanks for the knowledge bro.

Of course. Thank you. Yes, both is the best of both worlds.

This is my toughest debate right now for my holster choices, it’ll be my first one and I’m looking at the Tenicor Certum/ Sagax with the ABDO spare mag pouch or the Trex Sidecar with a mag attach. I plan on buying both but tough decision to step into

What gun are you carrying? If it has a decent capacity I’d steer towards a gun only holster. Low mag capacity(10 or less) I’d lean towards the sidecar

@@billdrill22 hey Bill I have Glock 19, M&P 2.0, P320 all standard oem mags. I went with TREX sidecar for the M&P 2.0 because they didn’t have it at Tenicor. I will end up running it separately keeping the extra mag in my truck thanks to the flexibility. But I will grab the Tenicor for my Glock down the line.

I assume you mean they didn’t have it available because I own the velo 4 for the m&p 2.0, but I’m using my 1.0. Also think they offer it for the 320. It’s an awesome holster too. I use an additional wedge with it, mastermind tactics pillow wedge

@@billdrill22 unfortunately the S&W lineup that are available are non light bearing. I am outside at night more than daylight I have to have my TLR7 on.

Ahhhh, yes, I got ya now. Yeah, I understand your dilemma. Another option is to go with a universal holster like the MSP tlr-1 or x300. That’s another good option if you’re interested in using a larger light.

decided to get a gun only holster for my FNX 45 tactical. I don't need a light on it as i'm not really out at night, im a family of 3 so i know where everybody is at in our home at all times, and the gun is already large as it is. it conceals very very well in the 1 o clock position and i can carry it all day in a slightly larger shirt. I am thinking of getting a cheaper spare mag holster to have it sit on the left of my waist IWB since i don't like to carry much in my actual pockets. I don't NEED the spare mag but it feels nice to have a whole 30, or 31 (if you have a +1) rounds of 45.

if i had a 43x i would probably get a sidecar though

Yes sir, 31 rounds of 45 acp is reassuring to anyone. Especially these days. Tenicor makes a great spare mag caddy, as does T1C. Not sure that they make them for 45 acp but worth a look

About how long would you say it took to receive holster from traditional arms?

Less than 10 business days. His times might have changed though, but his turn around times are why I originally used him.
