@Bill Is that the Glock OEM extended slide stop/release? If not do you suggest this one over Glocks OEM? Also do you use extended mag catch/release? OEM or not on that too? I’m looking for polymer on that and not aluminum if you have suggestions for either? Thanks!
@billdrill227 күн бұрын
I use oem Glock extended slide stop/release with the exception of I have a Kagwerks extended and raised slide stop on my gen 5 g17. That’s the only Kagwerks I’ve found that works(gen 5). Otherwise I only use glock oem , includint the mag release. I use the standard mag release because the extended mag release digs into my support hand, which is painful and causes me to hit it during recoil which results in dropped mags

This is my toughest debate right now for my holster choices, it’ll be my first one and I’m looking at the Tenicor Certum/ Sagax with the ABDO spare mag pouch or the Trex Sidecar with a mag attach. I plan on buying both but tough decision to step into

@@billdrill22 hey Bill I have Glock 19, M&P 2.0, P320 all standard oem mags. I went with TREX sidecar for the M&P 2.0 because they didn’t have it at Tenicor. I completely understand. It’s nice to have, but all my other guns I don’t get lock back on the last shot and I just deal with it. Train for that and it’s fine. With that being said I’m 50/50 on reliability. The gen 3/4 one didn’t function properly and my gen 5 one has been 100% reliable.

@billdrill2211 күн бұрын
Here is what I will say… if you do a lot of reloads and feel you need your slide to lock back on the last round, then get it. My gen 5 has been reliable and I think the steel is quality. If you don’t do a lot of reloads or maybe you do a lot of tactical reloads or speed reloads, I’d suggest not getting it because the oem ones are obviously quality and you don’t have to worry about their reliability

I’ve used both and have to disagree but to each their own. It’s all opinion. Sandpaper is old school and works but I don’t like that overtime the sand will wither down to the paper losing its grip and will end up looking sloppy. I’ve put about 10,000 rnds so far in my edge grips on a Glock 17 and has held up to the wear. My other Glock 17 has the sandpaper and it’s worn down to paper in some areas granted it’s had about 15-20,000 rnds put through it. I prefer edge, it’s grippy rubber but also has aggressive texture which provides a good purchase on the handle.

The other was a SQUIB shooting magtech steel case 115g. Luckily the squib happened on the last round. Did not notice until I got home and started to clean the barrel. Now I’m skeptic when I take it out to the range.
@billdrill222 ай бұрын
I get it. The gun is fantastic, shoots so much flatter than my other striker fired guns, and has great features. 2 malfunctions in the first 500 rounds isn’t that bad though. There is typically a break in period for every gun. See how it shoots in the next 500 rounds and then make your decisions on what to do from there. Seems like you and I are having different issues, mine being failure to extract, but after changing the extractor mine has been 100% reliable. Also, the squib was likely from the ammo, not the gun.
@AnDy.Strong2 ай бұрын
@@billdrill22 I actually enjoy shooting it. Love the ergos and the trigger is, in my opinion, underrated. I blame the ammo as well , that magtech is sh*tty. Thought I was going to start a fire with all those sparks.

Don’t waste your time with changing anything that goes in the striker channel, it has nothing to do with feeding or extracting. I had the same problem you’re having with my OZ9. I sent it back to Zev and they replaced the extractor. I then changed the barrel because the Zev barrel was consistently failing plunk tests with several types of ammo. I replaced it with a KKM and it’s been running great ever since. It just sucks that I had to spend more money on an already expensive gun. I also have a Zev HyperComp and haven’t had any issues with it.
@billdrill222 ай бұрын
I appreciate the heads up. I can absolutely see the barrel having issues, but I did change the extractor, channel spacer and cups and it’s actually running great now. Only put 150 rds through it, but it ran the magtech it wouldn’t run the other day, so I’m hoping it’s fixed

I have the oz9c entire lower but the thing is that my slide and assembly for that is built without Zev parts.i also have the dpm kit that I threw in there as well. A lot of people have the same issues you’re having so imo #1 id try throwing an oem g17 gen3 slide and oem internals on there and see if that cycles good. If it does theres an issue somewhere in the upper. If that’s the case - try the Zev slide with all oem glock internals and see if that cycles. Also make sure your right screw on your sight isn’t too long because that can cause the extractor pin to not work properly. If you’re still having issues try changing the ejector with a Glock gen 4 or 5 version instead of the one that comes with the Zev. Also try a few runs with an oem guide rod and without the dpm kit. One of those should be the problem. If I were to guess I think it’s the slide internals(probably the extractor pin assembly, extractor not in spec or isn’t hooking on to lip of casing, ejector not flicking the casing out during fire) Hope everything works out TLDR : change extractor pin assembly, extractor, and ejector
@billdrill222 ай бұрын
You’re pretty much on the money with making some internal changes. I’ve run 2200 rds through it in its stock configuration before changing the guide rod to DPM and already checked the optic screw. I’ve changed out the spacer sleeve, cups, and extractor to Glock oem, and I polished the feed ramp. Put 140 rds through it today of mixed ammo and it ran everything so I’m assuming that did the trick. Time will tell but I’ll also be doing a follow up video once I have more data on reliability. Thank you for the feedback
