But it boggles my mind how some people think that the SC-functionality in a SINGLE-BAND-Compressor “lets more bass through“ when you dial it in. I can‘t believe how dumb some people are ^^.

MB Compression via Studio Rack for non MB comps like HComp, etc. is more suitable for me, but thx for explanation. I created for this purpose also a Studio Verse preset. Enjoy.

Not the same as MB comp... Very different in fact.

Can you do this with a multiband compression?

Not the same... But with mb comps you can just turn off the compression on the lower band and just compress the mid/ high bands. Still not the same effect, but really up to what sonic characteristics you're looking for.

Hi there, the side chain filter is a highpass filter that reduces low frequencies in the signal. This prevents bass-heavy sources from excessively influencing the compression. It is a sidechain filter that's influenced by an external source.
