7:25 this particular F35 (and can also be heard earlier in the clip) has a much more exaggerated turbine sound, or some sort of underlying mechanical droning noise. I mean it is subtle but definitely sounds a bit different from most of the other F35 footage I've seen. Anyone else picking that up?

So was this route not closed when that Hornet crashed like some other ones were?
@mykenry2 жыл бұрын
The whole route is open including the Jedi transition however Star Wars canyon is still limited to 1500’ agl. The rest of the route is still 500ft, 500kts

The Sidewinder Low Level Route (SWLL) is a major feature of the R 2508 Complex. The SWLL Handbook is open source on the internet. The owner of this channel may not want links posted in comments- which is understandable. If you care to access the Handbook, simply search the internet for R 2508 Complex and/or Sidewinder Low Level. Do a bit of hunting to be sure your see the current edition of the Handbook. To my knowledge the current edition is dated May 2022. However, the only significant change I've seen in a decade is the minimum 1500" AGL over Rainbow Canyon (aka: Star Wars Canyon).

Where in the run can this site be found to shoot from?

Most of this is at the start of the route, between Alpha and Bravo along the Kern River

I am joined at the hip with the geography of Kern and Inyo Counties, Ca. both professionally and recreationally. I can tell you the first part of the vid is captured from the upper Kern River (upriver from Lake Isabella) Kern County, CA. As the owner of this channel has stated in comments, this would be between points Alpha and Bravo on the Sidewinder Low Level Route. The mid-point of the video appears to be captured in Inyo County, CA from near the top of a gigantic natural rock pile east of Lone Pine, CA called "Haystack" (aka: "Kern Knob" on older maps). The landscape the jets are foregrounding is the west face of the mysterious and largely ignored and unknown Inyo Mountains. Of course, the final awesome bit is captured from (wait for it) the Eureka Valley Sand Dunes, CA which is between points Foxtrot and Golf.
