Sidney Crosby Hat Trick on Hat Night! [11-28-09]

UPDATE:
Cooke suspended 2 games; Avery gets nothing. It's a good thing Bettman is behind all this and will do whatever it takes to help the Pens out...oh wait.
Sidney Crosby and the Pens with a HUGE night!
-5 point night for Crosby and the HT of course
-Almost everyone back in the lineup
-8 goals against the Rags
-Fleury's Birthday
-Hits and fights
-AND we get to do it all again on Monday
I don't think they had even mentioned Hat Night OR the fact that Crosby had two goals...
But I saw the hats on people's heads right from the start of the game since they were white, and when the Pens went on a long PP, it was only a matter of time until Crosby put in the 3rd goal! WOOOO!!! It was so awesome to see the hats raining down!
The fans were awesome as usual. Chants of "Go home Rangers!" and "Happy Birthday!" started in the last few minutes. Great stuff to hear.

Moments like this are just icing on the cake for legendary players. Crosby has won pretty much everything there is to win in hockey. I know it's kind of corny, but legends get remembered for coming up big in these kind of moments.

I still have this game on my DVR along with many others (game 7 against Washington 5/13/09, games 2 and 4 against Carolina for the perfect sweep, and game 7 on June 12, 2009.) Happiness is Sidney Crosby's smile!!!! But what I really love is when the two-headed monster comes alive like in the Phoenix/Pittsburgh game on 12/20/10.

You can hear Sid shout at Malkin on that second goal for the puck when he sees that empty net! This was a really fun game to watch, seeing all those hats reign down from the upper levels was really cool. Near the end of the game when it was clear that the Pens were going to win, Sean Avery went beserk shouting at the Pens bench.

Just because they are on other teams doesn't mean they are washed up. Jagr is still in the top 15 in the NHL for goals, assists and points. Most of those were from when he was in Pittsburgh. He plays for a Russian league now. The only former Penguin playing for the Rangers now is Rosival and he still ain't too shabby. I still have respect for our former Pens no matter what team they are on.

They will probably be used for another free hat night since they were the hats from the promotion , but a normal hat trick night, teams usually put the hats on display in the stadium , well at least the Wells Fargo center does.

@LmAc18722 Malkin is out for the year with a torn knee he already had surgery where are you getting upper body injury with Malkin? Crosby is still out no time set on his return he is getting better, but it is slow and the Pens are in fine shape right now for the post season 36-19-5- 77pts 4th in the East

@WahooWa1819 yeah, I agree somewhat with what you say, but not really lately. He has definitely toned it down, and matured greatly since his rookie year. Also, as captain, its his job to complain to refs about bad calls. I think its great to have players like Crosby, Malkin Ovechkin (and a few others) in the league today. Its this high class talent that will be the only reason if hockey ever gets back to being on national tv more than just one night a week on versus.

You do realize that while Malkin was out, there were a ton of other injuries too right? Talbot (out from offseason surgery), Gonchar, Kennedy, Letang, Orpik, Gologoski, McKee, Kunitz...most were on defense, but a lot of defensemen who help a lot in assists and scoring. Of course he had a few bad games with all those people out lol.
