I didn’t even get the opportunity to not kill them. Dark was in the tunnels surrounded by mercs for me. Never was with the bandits and they attacked me on approach.

Interesting how Roosevelt has 3 missions linked to him and with each the possibility to kill him or negotiate with him. I killed him very early because I had a side mission from the bartender of the Garbage bandit base. But I could have had this mission or the one from the main quest requesting to get his and the Shah's pda, as an other interaction with him.

Roleplaying. You get different endings and dialogue choices for a reason. Personally, I liked Roosevelt very much, and I wouldn't kill him in any playthroughs.

He was an agreeable enough character, and at this point in the game I basically felt sympathy for his guys being wiped out by monolith, it's better if he allies with Rookie village/sid. 30k is not that much and he gives you the location of a good stash with a nice artifact.
