During the summer of 2017, Chester opened up the castle for the public. I was one of the tour guides, and read up on this siege hoping to inform the visitors. We weren't allowed however. We were instructed to just guide visitors on the correct route and to stop them going anywhere deemed not allowed to visit, including the part where coins where once minted. A great book on this subject is by John Barratt and is called the Great Siege of Chester. Great video, very informative. Many thanks

HI Chez, I have read the book by John Barratt, and think it has one major flaw - nowhere in it does it mention any females, omitting some important evidence as a consequence. Chester u3a now have a Siege of Chester walking trail that covers some of the important locations and people. You can see a copy here: u3asites.org.uk/files/c/chester/docs/2022eastertreasurehunt3.pdf
