Kings and Generals animated historical documentary series on the First Crusade continues with the aftermath of the battle of Civetot of 1096 ( • People's Crusade: Batt... ) during the so-called People's Crusade of the First Crusade and the battle of Nicaea of 1097 ( • Princes' Crusade Begin... ) as the Princes' Crusade began. The Crusaders continued moving into the Asia Minor and had to fight against the forces of the Seljuk Sultan of Rum Kilij Arslan in Dorylaeum ( • Battle of Dorylaeum 10... ) and after the victory over the sultan, the road to Syria was open, leading to the Siege of Antioch in 1097-1098 ( • Siege of Antioch 1097-... ), but the partial victory of the crusaders in this siege was followed by a counter-attack of various Seljuk generals, leading to the biggest battle of the First Crusade - the battle of Antioch ( • Biggest Battle of the ... ). In the aftermath of the battle, the crusade almost collapsed, as the infighting between the princes became too difficult to resolve leading to a Civil War like situation ( • Civil War of the First... ). Despite this situation, Crusaders managed to retain some of their unity and continued deeper into Syria, where they fought at Ma'arra. Unfortunately, that was the battle that turned them into cannibals ( • Battle that Turned Cru... ). The issues persists, but the majority of the remaining Crusader army finally reached Jerusalem and besieged it.

@Iason29
@Iason29 Жыл бұрын
@@jeanmuyuela8112 I'm actually and always been pro religion and value all kinds of religions for what each has to offer to the human conscience. I have also done research in the resurrection of christ which is very likely it did happen as the Roman army back then when taking record of this event had no reason to lie nor did the large part of the population who claimed to have seen him walking around villages after his death. However when it comes to Christianity there is a huge gap between what the message of this unexplained miracle was meant for and how it was hijacked by men of influence later thus there is a chance that the resurrection may have been in fact the only real miracle that ever took place as a real God doesn't need to make another.. 90% of what can be described as Christianity was conjured years if not centuries after Christ's death in order to control the interpretation of christ for reasons of having power over people. The problem in this modern century is now that for the first time science and archeology has given us so many answers and truths people dont bother to distinguish between real Christianity and that which is not, instead they generalize and condemn it all together, nor value the attempts of of those who over the centuries and in this day made genuine attempts to interpret the real purpose of religion. Thus its ironic and hypocritical when people who judge religion claim to do so objectively and scientifically but cannot see that they judge based on a religion of their own making. The many social scientists who did attempt to make a genuine scientific research effort in the resurrection and wrote books accidentally turned from atheists to believers or the very least confused doubters. There was I remember even a researcher who claimed to have turned atheist and believer 5 times over his lifetime in his book.

@@Iason29 your proof of resurection is that yoy read somewhere that some roman said it did happen and there is no reason for them to lie? @@JackBlack-py4en the narrator says from 9:00 onwards: "ontop the battlements some defenders used two handed swords." if you look at the scabbard of the defender, his undrawn sword looks like a late medieval longsword. I understand that artists have to fill in the blanks in a often very spotty medieval description and that this can be difficult. Yet there has to be a reason why Kings and Generals included the line about the Fatimids having two handers in their arsenal when those very, very rare in europe at the time. Especially since i know of an African martial artist (with whom i have a mutual friend) that a while ago tackled the the topic of african longswords and said that he knows of no examples.

@@luissengl8436 A german historian explained that the muslims in the crusades didnt have curved swords. Cuved swords were first invented with the Falchion in France. Curved Swords like sabers are more a thing of the early new age and onward. So its possible that the defenders indeed had swords long enough to be two handed. Maybe they created them themselves or captured them after battle. Or its just a stylistic thing. Not every weapon on old drawings looks exactly like it used to look. If you understand german i can send you a link. It covers the general topic of melee weapons of the all the middle ages from early to late. Even with drawings of the crusader bible.

When is the recapturin Jerusalem video coming?
@indomitable2566
@indomitable2566 4 ай бұрын
The apologists for these atrocities in the comment section is appalling, and it’s by the same people who will always point out how others did bad things, but will defend the crusaders to the very end. The fact is that their atrocities exceeded the atrocities committed by other sieges of the time and would rival only the mongols. They were like animals. They massacred the population of Jerusalem and spared no man, woman, child, or baby. They did not spare any Muslim, Jew, or even Arab Christians whom the crusaders hated for being culturally close to Arab muslims. Meanwhile, Omar bin Al-Khattab and Saladin were better than this and signed treaties allowing the non-muslim population to continue living in Jerusalem, practice their religion, and give them free passage. Before anyone brings up the jizya tax, it’s just a tax. Muslims had to pay the zakat tax too. You pay taxes today too. No one lives in a tax free society or country except for a few countries like UAE and others.

@@TruthSeeker8834 Funny. There was a 4chan thread a couple days ago where a Saudi was crying that his country was being taken over by liberal degeneracy. Music concerts and rock festivals, transgenders, and videos of hijabis dancing and doing drugs were posted. Many Muslim posters came to the thread, either to express shock and anger at the state of their "Muslim" countries or to laugh at Saudi Arabia. There were photos and videos of this happening all across the Muslim world. I wonder what happened to the so-called chosen people of Allah? Not a single Muslim poster came to reject it and to deny it, they were crying at how sad it was. Very interesting, don't you agree? The thing is, my dear Muslim friend, no country is "immune" to Western liberal degeneracy. It started in the West and it will spread to wherever you are too. It is inevitable. Already it is happening everywhere. Sucks but it's true. Even in China, the supposed "enemy of the West", LGBT and liberalism is rising. But keep telling me to cope I guess, lol.
