The one feature with the Roughouse that I think is better than ANY scooter is the sound of the horn which sounds like a car horn and defenately makes you be known by other cars if you need to alert them. And depending on what size helmet you use a full faced helmet will fit better if set in on it's side instead of vertically.

Thanks for posting boys.. Looks like two pretty good scoots. 50cc is enough for me - I don't race around much. I am about 6' 3" 175 lbs... So I like the bigger size of the Rhouse. The BIG thing with me is comfort.. You guys only focused on the seat comfort only. What about the suspension?. Which one is better at soaking up bumps better??.. In my area, small and large pot holes everywhere and rough roads and bumps are everywhere.. Which would be more comfy: The older Zuma, the reg. Roughhouse or Rhouse Sport version w/ upgrade rear suspension? Also, I have a 2009 Zuma 50 - but w/ about 11000 miles - it is getting old.. It has big bubble tires which really help give a softer ride (these are the original tires).. I let a bit of air out of them and that helps it ride a bit smoother. As for the Roughhouse.. I wonder how much softer the ride is with the adjustable piggy back rear shocks of the Rhouse Sport vs the reg. version of the RHouse?? I have tried several different brands of 50cc scoots and it seems to me that manufactures completely don't care about giving you comfort. Most just give you poor quality shocks, thin low profile tires, and very little extra padding in the seats. I don't mind paying extra for a good soft ride. If you there are better scooter options, let me know what might work better for me.. Thanks so much..

@@zadokmotorfreight2423 I have a 2009 Zuma 50cc with the regular stock bigger tires.. I still love the thing.. I had a 2018 Zuma 50cc which was ok but I thought the older model (2004-2010) as waaayyyy better. I just felt better and sat better on my older 2009 Zuma - than the 2018. So I SOLD my 2018 Zuma.. and I still have the 2009.. I may just try to put in a new engine and new tires on my 2009, because everything else works great. I wish that Yamaha would release the older 2-stroke 50cc (2004-2011) version of the Yamaha Zuma - and keep everything exactly the same - but maybe give it a updated more modern less polluting 2-stroke - and maybe a even better padded seat. But have the SAME BIGGER TIRES. The RHouse was on my list to check out .. but I never did, I hear it has a stiff ride. Still may check it out in the future... but I am still hoping (that by some miracle) Yamaha brings back a sprint run of the same (2004-2011) 50cc version again.. I hope Yamaha is reading this..

@howlingwolf125y I absolutely agree with both the weather and hoping yamaha re releases a 2 stroke Zuma!! With the advancements made in the last 20 years, I would think they'd be able to improve on the original engine, especially since the Rough house is still running 2 strokes. I wonder if the rough house sport rides better than the regular rough house since it has an upgraded suspension.

Go for Roughhouse! Roughhouse is made by PGO in Taiwan. PGO is a reputable biker maker with low profile in Taiwan. There are over 20 million scooters in Taiwan. PGO scooters have been followed by a group of knowledgeable cult for robustness. I have ridden Yamaha 2-stroke 50 c.c. scooter before(different model) and being very disappointed. The brake handle was broken when the scooter tipped over not even in riding. It costs me more than Kymco and Sym to replace a new brake handle just because it carries Yamaha's name. Meanwhile, my Yamaha scooter always gave me knitty gritty troubles that bother me such as being pulled over by police for rear brake light failure due to the bad circuit spring inside the brake handle(parked outside my apartment) and costs me more to replace it than for scooters of ordinary brands.

I have a highly modified 2005 Zuma. I don't ride at night, so headlights don't matter. I don't put my helmet under the seat, so that doesn't matter. I don't carry a passenger, so that doesn't matter (why would anyone try to carry a passenger on a 50cc scooter? I mean, get real) I know how to properly fill the oil reservoir on the Zuma without making a mess, so that is not a big deal. I use the kickstart way more often than the electric start, and have never broken anything on the Zuma. You don't have to stomp on it like you are starting an open class MX bike. It can easily be started with your hand on the kickstarter. I find the Zuma perfectly comfortable for a 50cc scooter, and I'm 6' with a 33 inch inseam and size 10 1/2 shoes. I paid $1500 for my 2005 Zuma from a private seller. But it was absolutely mint. Completely stock, under 400 miles on it. No scratches, living room kept. And there were NO other charges, not even sales tax. 2008 was the LAST year for the 2T Zuma, and there was no 2006 or 2007 Zuma. After 2008 the Zuma went 4T and became a boat anchor. Don't forget, when you modify a scooter, you lose your warranty, if you have one. My Zuma will hit 53 mph GPS, but as I said, it is highly modified (including the variator) with a lot of parts you can't get for the Genuine. I also prefer the Zuma's older styling, and of course the Yamaha name. My Zuma, unlike many newer Japanese brand bikes, was actually made in Japan, VIN starts with a J. The Roughhouse can hit over $3K OTD new, because of all the bogus dealer add ons, so it's new price is a bit deceptive. I'm not putting down Genuine. I have a 2009 Genuine Stella 2T manual shift manual clutch all metal body, and absolutely love it. But the Roughhouse just seems a bit cheap and flimsy to me.

Thanks for such a thorough review. I'm considering a 2020 125 cc Yamaha Zuma vs. a 2020 50cc Rough House. Which one would you recommend for a daily commute of 7miles each way on side streets only, no highways? Sometimes I ride up to 20 miles a day roundtrip. I'm leaning towards the Rough House based on warranty alone, but the Yamaha has more after market support, like you said. The Yamaha does fit the helmet, but no USB and yet has a bigger gas tank so I can ride longer if necessary. Which one would you get? My goal is to have affordable and fast transportation for work during the pandemic because I really can't afford a car. I also need it to be reliable with minimal issues that have to be fixed in the shop. Thanks for your advice.

I have a Zuma 50f and it tops out at 35mph uphill and a skosh over 40mph downhill . It rides really smoothly and I'm sure it could handle 45-50 mph but I'm not sure if it's worth the effort and cost. Probably should have bought a rough house with all the two stroke support available. I might just sell it and go buy a new rough house instead of sinking money in it and it still not get to 50mph consistently. In order to ride it to work, it HAS to do 45 at least. How is Zuma slower if it got to the same point on a road faster than roughhome , anyone learned physics in school or just ate bunch of crappy snacks by the look of things, smh?I guess roughhouse has a speedometer issue. To be honest both these machines look awesome and both are better than anything else out there.

Dude you guys aren't too bright, the speedometers on scooters are usually way off, when the roughhouse hits 50mph its actually only going 42-44mph tops on gps. While the zumma is more accurate, so in reality they're not too off
@SiegfriedsMotorwerx3 жыл бұрын
Real world riding conditions would lead us to believe any discrepancy in Speedo accuracy is negated by stock vs stock scooters….we love the Zuma’s here more then the RH50’s but stock vs stock the roughhouse would eat a zuma up
@grownman8802 жыл бұрын
Top speed test was horrible, the speedometer was off!! HOW is the Zuma slower yet reached the end of the road sooner!!!!!!
@stubert384 жыл бұрын
Wait a minute the zuma clearly has an aftermarket pipe which basically ruins its ranking. Compare a new zuma to a new roughhouse the roughhouse would win again
@SiegfriedsMotorwerx4 жыл бұрын
There are no more “new” zumas. They stopped production on the 50’s in 2019
@stubert384 жыл бұрын
As well I know zumas and roughhouse. They both came restricted. A good scientific way to compare would be having the restricted ones race and then deristricted race. Both with equal wear and tear and riders who’s weight matched.
@SiegfriedsMotorwerx4 жыл бұрын
Also any Zuma 50 in the United States after 2009 is a 4 stroke platform. Those Zuma’s aren’t worth half of what they sell for. Hence the reason we compared the bugeye Zuma and the roughhouse. Also in the aspects of this comparison where the Zuma’s aftermarket parts came in to play we accounted for that in the results.
@stubert384 жыл бұрын
Ok so use a 2019 Roughhouse. The point is they shouldn’t be compared. The zuma used to be the thing to get and now the roughhouse is

Only for the fact 50cc needs no safety course ($300) and just a normal drivers license. High school , college, and retired people are big on 50s.
