You’re showing us 4:22 that Cambodia is a must visit. One of the most fascinating countries in the world. The history from the Angkor times, the radical upheaval of the 70’s it’s all there to see. People are great, food is great and it’s cheap, what more do you want?

My heart just sunk. I used to visit Cambodia in the early 90's. Circumstances there were much different back then. I'm traveling back to the Phils and Thailand in January but now im going to fit Cambodia into my travel plans. Thanks for this video Brent.

Siem Reap is certainly heads and tails nicer than Phnom Penh, despite whatever advantages might accrue from being in a larger city like PP.

Dr. Beat Richner was the man who founded those Children's hospitals. Pretty much everyone, including the small kids, know his name. It is quite a legacy. I've lived here for 9 years. Glad you are enjoying the place. The people are awesome and water festival is a great time to be here, although it might not be the best time to be visiting Angkor Wat. I hope you guys don't bogged down in traffic and long lines. I would imagine it will be crowded.

coming from a fellow southerner, if you are pressed for time, just stay in Siem Reap. Tell Steak Restaurant looks like its good, but prices are up there. SR has alot to offer. Excellent sidewalks to walk around. Decent river walk, but it is congested now b/c of the yearly Water Festival happening now. if you are bringing cash from USA. make sure its not torn, worn out. the newer the better.

Brent, get yourself a cane to help you get around. I have issues with my knees and have been using a cane to get around here in Thailand. Not sure I could do it without it. Also, what is the decisive factor for you in deciding on a hotel room? I really like hearing what you've got to say about Siem Reap (along with some other vlogs I've watched) and am considering putting it and Vietnam on the radar for future travel, but wondering about where in Siem Reap to stay.

I use agoda to book my hotels and i usually go buy the location, ratings, and price! Lookout for very hard beds in Vietnam. In the north anyway. DaNang was great I highly recommend it and Siem Reap

Hi Brent. Are there beaches near Siem Reap or near other cities there? Is it easy to get a retirement visa in Cambodia? How is the quality and price for health care there?
@brentstrippin8867Ай бұрын
No beaches in Siem Reap. I think the visa is very easy to get and very cheap. Health care isn’t very good but Bangkok is just 1 hour away by plane. I would definitely go to Thailand for anything serious
@ShikokuFoodForestАй бұрын
How many days or months visa do you get upon arrival? How about renewal? Can you renew for 3, 6 or 12 months and up to 3 years like the Phil’s?

You can stay indefinitely on a business visa even if you don’t work. Far easier than the Philippines. Much better country also.

@ Thanks for sharing. I’ve recently started comparing other SEA countries to the Philippines after adding up all the negatives. There are many! Just because Filipinos speak some English and are willing to enter transactional, large age-gap relationships is no longer enough for me. It’s never been a motivating factor. Just my opinion. Other countries are starting to be more appealing. I’ve already heard immigration to the Phil’s is declining. How is Cambodia a much better country in your opinion??
@brentstrippin8867Ай бұрын
@ShikokuFoodForest its just different. Not saying its better because i havnt been here long enough to determine that and everyone has a different opinion Its definitely cheaper and cleaner. Very nice so far

NOW YOUR TALKING MY LANGUAGE !!! ---- Speaking to 'my' soul. > My favorite city for retirement Brent ! Took that away from the Philippines -- for my liking. > Especially now - the way the Philippines is doing with their 'tourist visa' for expats - I believe - trying to maybe force their SRRV onto more expats for $10,000 - if - your not a veteran ? No more 6 month extensions smells a little fishy to me ? ---- Cambodia is awesome for a retirement visa & Siem Reap is as good as it gets for a retirement destination !!! No other country comes close to the ease and cost for a retirement visa. ❤👍🙏👊✌👋👌🍺 kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3yuk6OGjNZsgbMsi=iG830KpxN8Tnu3l3
