I love Josie- but Oliver really is her counterpart with the fiddle. When I saw them at the Ryman they brought it. But I do miss the smaller venues.... I saw her back at the bluebird in btown and it was so intimate.

at 1:33 Josie Toney plays a TON of very musical, shrewd, to-the-song, gorgeous, under-the-vocal counterpoint. "counterpoint" I said. Look it up. If a metric ton is more than a regular ton, then she plays a metric ton of non-cliche, propulsive, counterpoint. In my humble opinion.
