Just a tip for everyone doing the same. Heat the old heating pad up with a heat gun. But just the pad! So hot that you just can touch it. Then pull the pad as flat and as evenly as possible off. That way you lose almost none of the foam.

That was a unique auto repair fix, didn't even have to get your hands dirty. I've never seen the upholstery clips removed before.

Good job. We used to pull the seat out to replace those on the previous generation. Haven't done one in the last 6 or so years so my recollection is a little fuzzy.

Instead of removing the old heater and tearing the foam, could I just apply the new one right on top of the old one? And cut off the old power cord?

Personally the amount of foam that comes off is very minimum, and since i have always done it this way I would stay with the procedure that I out lined. thanks for watching

I did that with a 2011 impala seat heater pad a year ago and I have had no issues for what it’s worth.

What can be wrong if both my seat heaters stopped working? Fuses ok. 2016 colorado

its hard to say without a proper diagnositcs, it could be heater elements/modules/switches/wiring ect, check and see if the power/ground in reaching the heater elements.

What if I have ventilated seats also will it be the same procedure??

the procedure is pretty much identical, as the vents are under the seats and not above them like the pads for heating. thanks for watching

Is the part number the same if you have the air conditioned and heated seats?

best thing to do is contact the dealer with the vin and get the proper part number. thanks for watching

Can you not just solder a jumper across the broken section of the old heating element?

I did that and it lasted about 2 months before it broke again. It’s worth buying a new one unless you want to open up the seat multiple times.
