Great video, as always. It's great to see an attainable (albeit getting quite expensive now) car being restored/recommissioned properly. Too many videos where people cheap out or bodge stuff! This Is how it should be done! 👌

I went to prom in a magenta sapphire Cosworth two weeks ago. It was the best car I've ever been in. The Sapphire has always been my dream car, so being able to experience it was genuinely out of this world. What an awesome car you have, man!

Thanks for the comment and well done for choosing a Sapphire Cosworth to arrive at prom in, particularly in Magenta (my favourite colour). Thanks for watching the video, I appreciate it.

Hi. Can't wait to see the final result 👍 I highly recommend seat runner covers from Granada Mk3. They should be factory fitted on every Cossie. I'm glad to see my favourite Sierra sound system, 2008 RDS radio with equaliser 👍 In 91 it was optional on prelift Sierras. Very good choice! 👍 As an electrician, I strongly do advise to do the soldering job again (by somebody experienced). It doesn't look safe... Otherwise great job 👍👍👍

Thanks for the comment and for the advice / suggestions. I too really like this stereo option and am pleased to report it's all still working. I intend to put another video out on the Sierra over the next couple of weeks, thanks for your patience.

Wow what a labour of love that car has been it looks absolutely wonderful and it is probably better than new in my view you deserve to enjoy it and have many happy miles of motoring in it and what a great way for your son to get to the prom! All the best to you all Daniel

I love the silver 4x4 Sapphire Cosworth it really is a good looking car. I own a flint grey 2wd which I am currently doing a rolling restoration on and trying to keep it as original as possible. It should be more or less finished this year hopefully.

@@cornishcarcollectors You’re welcome and I really enjoy your videos they are much appreciated. My dad had a 2wd Sierra Sapphire Cosworth in magenta back in 1989 which is what made me want one. His had 330 bhp which was a lot for 1989 and the car was fast. I have some great memories from those days.

Hello Andy Yes the light at the end of the tunnel is nearly in reach and the cossie looking good The bogging down issue could be an air flow sensor as these normally only play up when cold and would want the car to stall just a thought as i had the same problem on a Serria cosworth, in the end the air flow sensor and crank postion sensors were changed which rectified it. Anyway mate im so looking forward to the final video of the car complete CheeRS Nigel 🍺
@cornishcarcollectors3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment Nigel... I am nearly there! Thanks also for your thoughts on the bogging down on cold start issue, it is an annoying one. It's in next week for the tune to be tested and mechanicals so I am sure it'll be sorted - I'll let you know what's found. Thanks for sticking with the videos and following the restoration.

With the leather seats I used to have the passenger upright transferred over to the drivers side and use the leather out of the back of the drivers put into the bolster and the back replaced with a non leather , you’d end up with two perfect seats and a mint drivers seat
@cornishcarcollectors3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment and advice. I’ve actually done similar before with a Golf; swapped out the material from the seat back pocket to repair the bolster. I hope you enjoyed the video, thanks for watching.

Only five mins in the video but will say the wheel weight is probably kissing the calliper. Had the outer weights as far out on the wider element off the inside of the alloy to avoid it. Great video. 👍👍

Thanks for the comment and good luck with restoring your Sierra when you get to it - I’ll share the full cost of everything in a video which will be out within this coming month. I never intended to go as far as I have but one thing led to another - however much you are thinking, it’ll likely be double. Stay tuned to the Channel for a full breakdown of costs… it’s a lot. Thanks for watching.

@@cornishcarcollectors My initial budget is 25k. So if your telling me to double it. So your saying nearer 50k. I paid 4k for my car back in 2005.

What's a fucking prom isn't that a American thing??? And the driver what a snow flake he should be driving a 1 litre not a Cosworth
@cornishcarcollectors3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment James and the question, here you go… Prom: A ball or formal dance at a school or college, especially one held at the end of the academic year for students who are in their final year. 👍 As for driving the Sierra, the engine still needs to be run in so it requires “snow flake” driving for the first 1K miles, I did mention it in the video. Thanks for watching, I appreciate it, oh and by the way it’s “an American “. 👍

This is going to look so good once finished, I think you should get a new exhaust though!!! Are the brakes standard? Will you be stripping and restoring them if they are?. You should definitely drop a nice turbo upgrade in it!!! 😂
@cornishcarcollectors3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment. The exhaust has to go and will but I'll probably use the car for the summer and look to change it during the winter months. Brakes are indeed standard but are all new, and as for the turbo it is a Turbo Technics hybrid build which was done last year (you'll see I feature it in a previous video). I appreciate you watching, thanks.
