I’ve been working in the medical field for so long and have been debating between corpsman . I’ve worked medical assistant positions, icus , administration etc and I was going to school for nursing way back but I’m not sure if I want to do that or just work like in the clinic for like Adap as like a mental health technician etc do you know if the navy has rates as such I know I want to work in the clinic or hospitals on base

You can get a field med C school at MEPS when you sign if you’re a reservist, not active duty! It’s pretty much listed as a separate job.

As far as I know, it takes 2 years to strike a rate. Most people strike BM because they work with the BMs so much so they automatically know how to do that job. I’ve heard mixed opinions on it, some people love it & some people don’t. It’s honestly what you make it.

You can pick a rate after passing the E4 test or wait 18 months I believe before you can try to get CS
