This was great. This excellent Teacher is so good it’s amazing & his students did great too. It is difficult to see & witness the technique(s) he is teaching it is so fast, which is good too. It make us work harder & the nature of the technique(s) is supposed to be fast & effective like that. The teacher obviously can do these technique(s) even if blind, which is an awesome component & aspect of this martial art he is teaching, always. All of these peoples look in great shape and health..& nice Dojo’, Sir. Good job!

This master won't do anything. Wing chun is useless in a real life or death fight. Watch the videos of wing chun vs other martial arts and wing chun always loses. Tell me why you never see it used in MMA?
@scoast002 жыл бұрын
@@tacomator2895 Sifu fong is demonstrating reflex response…I attended many a seminar late 80s and early 90 s, he is a full muay Thai instructor under Ajarn Chai Sirisute. I believe he is also full instructor under Guru Dan Inosanto in Kali and JKD, he also has experience in other arts and western boxing as well, but yes his core experience is in Wing Chun… he is very dangerous if he wasn’t so nice!
@scoast002 жыл бұрын
@Bebo Again this is a brief snippet of a training session, perhaps showing one (yes less practical) of other counters to a double leg takedown. I know there are many delusional wing chin instructors on KZbin but I promise you Sifu Fong is an exceptional instructor and very practical, he also studied Judo for several years in Hong Kong. He is a very open minded, true martial artist. I am not one of his students but attended seminars from him in Late 90 s and early 90 s. He use to have a summer camp with Guru Dan and Ajarn Chai.
@scoast002 жыл бұрын
@Bebo what is being shown is a brief look of a training session or seminar. With all due respect, I do not think you can say someone’s experience in an art is crap by a quick transitional snap shot. Sifu Fong is a great martial artist, I have not attended his seminars in quite some time, so I do not know if he studied more of grappling arts, similarly to Guru Dan who has earned his black belt under the Machados, I believe in his 70s. What I do know is His Uke/student is now a black belt in BJJ under Pedro Sauer so his school has access to very practical methods of grappling which would encompass defense against a double leg takedowns, Unfortunately there are many so called masters on KZbin but Sifu Fong should not be included Int that “crap”. Let’s be respectful to those that deserve respect.

@joshuasowden57606 жыл бұрын
wotchthiz Yeah they never are when it comes to fighting or even sparring. You'll never see it as robotic as when learnt from a reference point. But it's the same even with boxing, when on the pads you can't miss, but when in the ring not all of your shots land, I believe arts such as wing chun are unfairly judged.

You could say that about any art, including boxing, BJJ, etc. Fights are messy, but it helps to have a starting point of crisp technique.

@@legacyjeetkunedo492 Definitely. A real fight is usually unpredictable, but when you have a tool box of fighting techniques to choose from (as this master does), you can adapt and improvise.

@@error2k1 why so many obsessed MMA fanboys. It's like the worst thing to enter the world of mixed martial arts. Always ends up hugging on the floor until the bell rings, seriously boring, not realistic in the real world. Kudos to those who enjoy the sport in the octagon, for me it's boring and a little bit gay compared to BKFC or Streetbeefs.

People say wing Chun practitioners don't know how to grapple, but you can say wrestlers don't know how to strike. In a wrestling match if you even throw a punch you could get disqualified. I suppose MMA does allow the most variety. Even some MMA fighters use Wing Chun techniques.

the question is who ever initiates a strike like this? Same problem with many traditional ma, it becomes self referential, a wingchun block is surely effective only for a wingchun strike.
@naj4261 Жыл бұрын
I mean thats also true to all pure Martial Arts though(that arent usually cross-practiced). A boxer will learn how to fight against boxers, wrestlers against wrestlers and bjj against bjj (that doesnt mean that all of them are useless against one another, some are more applicable in most scenarios than others). Also a Wing Chun guy will very likely not outstrike a boxer, but he doesnt need to, because of low kicks, grappling and depending on the school even some ground game.
@hudsonwong7109 Жыл бұрын
Easy to do it in a relax way with prediction how the opposite side move. Say, what if he kicks instead of using arm attack , or he use the forehead to hit. That is why when all these practise go up stage cannot perform because they have a set mind how should the other side attack.
@breaking38372 жыл бұрын
I think wing chun would work much better with more realistic sparring against various styles. If I had time I would probably learn (or try to learn) Muay Thai, Jiu-jitsu and Wing Chun.

Effective against other practitioners and the untrained only. To me that’s what most arts are about. It’s designed to fight people who either have no training in anything and are attacking you or people who trained in the same art . A boxer or kick boxer or BJJ guy would WRECK this dude. He’s showing you trapping skills against another guy doing trapping skills
@redpillpusher Жыл бұрын
I agree with most of what you said but regarding "untrained" fighters... Ive known untrained "street fighters" that will give trained fighters a run for their money 😇
@MrProfchaos71 Жыл бұрын
@@redpillpusher oh for sure. There are some guys that are just naturally good with their hands etc. I’d say those types of untrained fighters would generally whoop most martial arts dudes other than guys with solid boxing/kickboxing or Muay Thai skills. Maybe a guy with a solid background in BJJ plus wrestling would also handle an untrained but talented street fighter assuming he’s good at avoiding strikes and shooting in etc.
