Hi Andrew, Looking awesome. I would go for the button head screws as they would have a more rounded appearance. Would also allow you to order a length that wont protrude into the interior of the fuse by the wind screen. Stay safe.

Thanks for this video, Andy! I'm currently rebuilding a Balsa USA L-4 and this is very helpful. The video made me think of attaching a scrap of the side window material to the windshield post with double faced tape to avoid any fitting surprises later. I got some #0x3/8" socket head button screws for this purpose from Micro Fasteners. Subbed.

Hello from france I build one like this with DLE 20cc Marvelous plane Flew great for many years I also made seperate wings for easy transport Also had ROBART landing gear and nav lights and opening dors on right side

How did the dle20 power it? Was it enough?

@@jamiel2585 hello sir Yes the DLE 20 is lots of power for this plane if you stay around 6 kg ( 2,5 hp) Only à few things with this engine Very reliable, Starts very easy by hand Be careful with carburettor settings ,à bit touchy And at last exhaust pipe comes loose easily Good flights, from french modeler

Looks great! Almost done. The RTL master assortment of hardware is super handy to have. You are never without screws and other hardware. It's also nice to swap kits out from metric to standard as well or if you are like me and drop/lose parts. Anyway I bought it and use it on every build.

Spectacular!! You have inspired me. I recently won a ball so USA quarter scale carb at an auction. It was at one time a very nice plane but has fallen in disrepair. I am in the process of restoring it and guess what? I am at the windshield. I was hoping I would find a link to a template for your windshield. Do you have a link to a template online? You can get the plans from balsa USA, the template should be on there. Since this on is a SIG it may not be the same

When you do your side windows make it so that the windshield overlaps on the side window because when the aircraft flies thru the air it will not work on the seam.

Oh the joys of modeling. The wind screen for the 1/6 scale was pre cut and it did not fit. Took some careful, bit by bit trimming . I sometimes feel sorry for the state of the hobby now. Some folks in our club are afraid to even tackle a balsa ARF let alone an old school kit. How about we do a scratch off plans? :););)
