I've been shooting the DD Delta5 pro in .308 for over a year now, and love it. When I would bring out my Ruger 5.56 MPR after shooting the Delta 5, it felt like a toy gun lol. So I decided to get an AR10. After watching many reviews, I chose the 716I. The BCG was really dirty and full of thick, heavy, sticky stuff from the manufacturing process when I got it. I cleaned it but had a little trouble with jamming at first, so I went back and cleaned it more thoroughly, and lubed it up really well. It's been running flawlessly since. I love this rifle, except for the really stiff trigger, and the crappy, too small charging handle. I replaced both and now it's a real pleasure to shoot. i don't think you can find a better AR10 in it's price point...

I use a little bit of High Temp bearing grease and a couple drops of oil, and she stays slick, hahaha. The trigger is pretty rough so I wouldn't with the 2 stage larue tactical and love it. I also added the badger extended charging handle, I've looked for a larger handle but I've heard the handle it's self is proprietary..

My home defense gun is a Springfield Saint Edge. I also have a Saint Victor 308 set up for home defense. The 716i will be coming here in the future.

I’ve gone with a 16in Ruger SFAR over all my other 5.56 and the rest of my .308 AR’s. Paired with a a 1-10 LPVO and a Thunder Chicken suppressor and some other upgrades it’s been the best rifle I could hope for. Best grand I’ve ever spend on a rifle, BY FAR. Highly recommend it to everyone I talk to about rifles. My integrally suppressed Sig MCX Rattler build with a SLX suppressor is my favorite pdw/cqb rifle though. So Sig definitely makes some great guns, their prices and what ya get for the dollar can jus be hard to swallow. But $1700 for a Rattler upper conversion kit is a sweet deal to me.

Interesting. I honestly didn't know Sako made an ar type platform. The Indian army actually ordered a ton of the sig 716s for their new military rifles.

Good vid and nice riffle, as a SHTF riffle in 308 I would choice a better light…. I own one myself in a 556 with a 12.5” barrel and the light is NOT powerful enough for the effective range of it. For a 308/7.62 I would use a ModLight or Cloud Rein 3.0 just to reach out if needed. Just remember if your using a white light to see them, they are seeing you too

I agree, I probably should have mentioned that the light was only for buildings haha. I try not to use a light out side unless I'm tracking a bloodtrail on my deer lol. I would love to get some nightvision but it's currently not in the budget lmao

Interesting choice. Although if you've read Boston T. Party (Kenneth W. Royce) Gun Bible you'd know that a .308 battle rifle is probably the way to go if/when the SHTF so good job there. My go to rifle though is a DDM4V7 (5.56) with an Eotech and 3X magnifier. Have you thought about adding some magnification to your rig to increase its capabilities? Enjoyed the video.

Nice the DDM4s are nice but I'm not sold on 556, that's just a personal preference though I prefer 30 cal rounds. As far as adding magnification I haven't thought about it with this rig, I've just tried to keep it as light as possible. I do have a 7.62x39 rifle that I have set up for a dmr I still have a couple things to do to it to finish it up but it's 1 moa gun with steel case and that's solid in my book haha. I'll be dropping a video on that one in the coming weeks.

Hey man, what method did you use to get the stock compensator off? From what I’m seeing is SIG uses rocksett. I’ve seen people say use boiling water to loosen the comp. What did you do?

I just used a wrench. It was tight but broke free pretty easily. I don't think I had rock set on mine.

Yes, it can. It does not have an adjustable gas block, though. You could always add one later on, or I have heard of some people just running a suppressor the way it is.

I've gone the 16" SFAR route with a TA31-ACSS, YHM Flash hider/suppressor threaded, same light, same grip, magpul QD stud for bipod, BAD ambi safety, Norgon ambi mag release, Geisele Maritime bolt release, BCM Mod2 grip, LimbSaver recoil pad for the Moe-SL stock, and a VTAC sling. About $2900 all told, including the off-gun Magpul moe bipod, but not including the Form1 surpressor. I live in the hills of WV, so this config will be perfect for my GP rifle. I run my ACOG with killflash and cap, so I can use it occluded for CQB, or flip the cap for magnification. Subd! 👊🏼🇺🇲👊🏼

I have basically the same setup with a 3x9 Leopold, bipod, qd strap, and a light. I'm around the same. Somewhere around 2500 without mags and ammo, and case. Love the rifle but I'll probably upgrade the trigger, maybe the stock and that's about it. Would like some reccomendations for a muzzle device potentially.

So my loadout for when SHTF so far (considering the laws here in CA)… 1. A 9mm will be my primary pistol. Most likely a Springfield XD 9 since I seem to be most accurate with that. I want to shoot the sub-compact version of the XD but the range I went to didn’t have a rental for it. I also shot my brother’s Glock 19 and Glock 26 (10 rounds each). Both are good but the G19 jammed and I had not hit the bullseye though I have a medium sized group near the bullseye while the G26 was snappy, I was accurate with it with 1 bullseye and a medium sized group nearby it. So those would be the choices next to the XD. I want to try the CZ 75 P-01 next. Along the way, I’d love to try the Beretta M9/92FS and Sig Sauer P229. 2. An AR-15 that can shoot .223 and 5.56. 3. A long ranged rifle in .308. (It’d be this AR-10 in the video unless there is no CA variant for this.) 4. A back up pistol/ hideout pistol. I’d want to see if a Bersa Firestorm, a snub nose revolver (in 38 special or 9mm), or a micro compact/sub-compact 9mm pistol would be good candidates. I wouldn’t put the G26 in this category. I’m looking for more of the pocket sized guns or guns I can IWB appendix carry while my primary pistol would be in a OWB holster or thigh holster. I tried the Sig Sauer P238 but I was inaccurate with it mostly because the trigger was too stiff and maybe because I had no pinky grip. 5. A 1911 in .45 ACP. This is mainly because I was super accurate with my dad’s 1911 in my teens and 20s. Nostalgic for sure. Suggestions are welcome. After all,I am new to marksmanship and am willing to learn.

@@projectredbeard2199 Thank you. But yeah that 12 gauge shotgun is probably option number 6 or more if I’d get more guns after gun number 5. To me, the .308 rifle is good for hunting and the .45 ACP and AR-15 rounds are good enough for self defense against groups of pricks and zombies. 😆

@Harvey C. Recoil is pretty subjective everyone handles it differently. I don't really pay much attention to it. But most semi-autos are gonna be lighter on recoil. I'd say a semi 308 is like shooting a bolt action 22-250
