Even just commercial Oystering like I did up until the C word shut down my business has it's dangers in every turn. Smaller boats, waders and rough inlets loaded down with 50+ bushels of oysters has its own way of a quick ending. I always have a small knife in a sheath I wear around my neck for when I go overboard or if the boat sinks with waders on so I can quickly cut myself out of them. I've only been out by myself a few times when my help didn't show up and that can lead to the danger of getting stuck in pluff mud then having the tide quickly come in and not make it out before the water eventually rises above your head. Those two factors are the leading cause of demise when it comes to Oystering on that level, but damn do I sure miss it and hopefully this coming winter I can get back at it if everything with the seafood markets and catering companies I supply goes right.

The stress levels are at all all time high. This video right here is a pretty major example but even the slightest of problems or human/error can result in a massive loss in time, profit or even life. It's no easy task to take on to captain a fishing vessel especially of that size. Making little of the situation only proves to show your own immaturity and lack of understanding of the matter.

Seems to me there would be a backup ready fit skee Bob. Undo hydros at the quick connect. Slide out ol broken and blap new prick in place connect and go. Or is that un doable ? Something that is used the most and is everything to crabbin. That system is just not feasible or? Help me out smarter persons than I? Which is prob most here veiwing this?

Wait when did Josh become Captain of the his pops boat? I’ve been out of the loop for a long while. Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy he’s doing what his old man loved.
