If it’s any consolation my brother is with DEVGRU (Seal Team 6), and they have implemented the Sig P320 X5 and have had zero issues. Their gunsmiths have fully endorsed the 320 and claimed it to be safe. See what happens when competent individuals that actually train at their craft use a 320, it works as intended.

I agree with the fact that you need to be competent 100%. I have decided to keep the P320. I just haven't had the time to make any videos recently. However those things being said, that's still a small sample compared to the entirety of production of the 320 model.

I just bought one a few days ago and after reading about the so-called self-firing issue I called Sig directly and the gentleman I spoke with assured me the issues that were present in the past have been fixed. He even told me he Carries one himself, loaded in the appendix and that he trusts the gun and it’s safety mechanism. Whether he was bullshitting me or not, I do not know but I just thought I let you know. He also said those people who’s gun went off either pulled the trigger somehow and had the gun in a holster not designed for the gun. He mentioned the lady cop who’s P320 fun went off in her purse, had the gun in the purse, unholstered and so whatever she had in her purse must have hit the trigger somehow. He also mentioned the other gentleman who had an accident, had the gun on a Serpa holster. Those holsters are dangerous and I personally hate them. So there it is. That’s the reply I got. You guys decide.

Yeah, I still own mine, and it stays ready to go, but I don't conceal it. I know there was one guy that went off at a match. Sig told him it was a faulty striker return spring. But idk. I still have mine and love it. It's just food for thought.

@@projectredbeard2199 I took it to the range 3 days ago and while pointing down range, I shook the hell out of it to see if it would go off on its own. Nothing. I put a dummy round on chamber and holstered it and walked, ran and jumped with it to see if it would go off. Nothing so I want to say these people who’s gun went off must have done something to engage that trigger. Thank you for your videos by the way and thank you for replying on this very interesting subject.

I love the accuracy and feel of the trigger. I put a Wilson combat grip on it and it is great. I don’t carry chambered for safety but I don’t want to be trigger happy. I am always aware of my surroundings and I am not anxious to take a life. If I am going into a dangerous area I will chamber my gun. With said I appreciate your analysis and any updates. Thank you.

That's me. I love the gun, it feels great, shoots great, and it's in 357 sig. For me, that's a pretty stout combo. I carry with one in the chamber because, well, things can go south so fast. But this is a full size 5 inch gun, so I'm not concealing this lol, but it would be an ideal pick for a gun home gun. I'm gonna try and do an update now that I've thought about it more, and of course, any updates or reports I come across, I've just been crazy busy.

I agree , I just stopped carrying with one in chamber . Problem solved . I carry a Glock 43x and a dig 365xl . Easy to conceal . I’m not concealing the 320 so it’s basically a competition, range and home defense toy . I wish sig would bite the bullet and just put flat triggers with the safety blade in em

I’m not going against my idea that it’s unsafe to carry without one in the head to compensate for manufacturers error. I just use mine as a car gun. Out in a holster inside my car with a factory 30rd, I can’t trust my appendix draw speed under stress with seatbelts and clothing. If SHTF I have 30 rds for immediate engagement or good cover fire

The only problem with the Sig P320 is idiots that don't know how to handle a gun safely. Then, they blame the tool because they're not man (or woman) enough to admit that they made a mistake. Then you have all the so called "Gun Experts" on youtube that want to jump on the bandwagon in order to get clicks. I won't accuse you of that, I'm not sure if that's where your head is or not. Bottom line, the Sig P320 is as safe as any other striker fired gun on the market. Yes, they had a problem early on, mainly with the weight of the trigger, but that was very quickly addressed and dealt with. I don't think Sig admitted that there was a failure of any of the guns that supposedly went off by themselves. If you look at all of the available videos of these AD incidents what you'll find is that there was some manipulation of the gun that involved a trigger pull. Again, idiots that don't know how to handle a gun safely. If you're not one of them, then you're perfectly safe to carry the P320.

While I'll agree most accidents are due to mishandling. I can't say 100% because I wasn't there. However, I have noticed some of the p320s seemed to have a lot of play in the rear of the slide, not saying that could have been part of the problem but again I can't say. This being said I did decide to keep the pistol. Just haven't got around to making videos lately. Have had a lot going on.
@fiosfiend
@fiosfiend Жыл бұрын
@@projectredbeard2199 Appreciate your sincerity. Here is what I can say 100%. Modern striker fired guns cannot go off without a trigger pull. Now, that doesn't mean that a gun with a very light trigger pull and trigger that's too heavy can't go off if dropped in just the right way. What it means is that there is no way that all these guns are just going off by themselves. That is an impossibility. I can say that with 100% confidence because I know how they work and I know how the P320 works. It would take multiple internal failures for that to happen, and not one person has demonstrated that anything like that happened. These accidental discharges are negligent plain and simple. The problem is that no one wants to admit that they made a mistake so they blame the tool. Would love to see another video from you.

@@projectredbeard2199 all the play in the slide is downward. Which actually increases the engagement of the sear and striker.... this is not an issue not to mention when the magazine is inserted it basically goes away anyways.

I have one that was just bought about two weeks ago. Unfortunately, I did not research the firearm before buying. I actually went in to look at Glocks, but the 320 just seemed to fit me like a natural extension of my hand. Naturally good pointing, balance was good. I started researching and came upon the history 😞. Mine was manufactured in 2020 and has the upgrades already. No send in needed. However, I’m not completely comfortable with carrying it. I carry a G43 daily. I can’t return the Sig and would lose money on trade. I’ve not shot it yet, but did cycle it in the backyard to make sure there’s no mishaps in doing that. So I guess for now it will serve as a nightstand gun with mag loaded, but chamber empty. Maybe one day there will be some concrete accessories to mitigate any chance of the AD possibility, but until then I will let it stand as is.

@@projectredbeard2199 that is a good point. I would think if it was anything a modification would have caused sig would have been first up to point that out. People need to send their "malfunctioning" guns to a 3rd party engineer that is unbiased so some truth can surface. I don't see how the 320 can fail but there are so many cases out there and the fact they have settled on some of them and another reputable youtuber said they had them sign non disclosures after they settled doesn't make me feel warm and fuzzy about my 2 p320s.

@projectredbeard2199

The 226 are great, but the Hellcat is really just optimized for concealed carry. Even though it's using a full size mag, it's just so easy to conceal and it's very light weight. Even with the 15rnd mag the dimensions it's still smaller then the 226. Also I love 357 and I think springfield should make the Hellcat chambered in it lol.

@Jason Jones I did fondle the macro the other day and it felt pretty good, the grip felt a little thicker then on the 365xl. I had a 365xl but when I shot it it was almost like the grip was too thin for my hand. Then I shot the Hellcat PRO and that felt really good and I shot it well, so I went with that. The only problem sig had in the past was that the trigger was heavy(fat and chunky) and it's made of metal, that's why the newer models you see a "slimmer" trigger, I've carrier a P320 with Wilson combat grip and Apex trigger, and I've beaten the snot out of it, never ever went off, when the problems were coming online, I had a plastic hammer and hit it so hard I had scuffs in my slide 😂😂, and it didn't go off, I've carried it appendix 3 or 4 days a week for 4 years I take it to work(I work moving up and down ladders I jug, walk fast, jog, etc... I have it with a cheap Wethepeople holster and I carry one on the chamber, never ever had issues with that gun... Anyway if you don't trust your gun don't carry it, but I'm pretty confident that you need to press the trigger for it to disengage the safety and make it go off... but hey if none of you want the gun I'll take care of that problem for you just send it to me with some ammo and your problem is gone 😂😂

How old are you Project Red Beard? I'm betting you are too young to remember the early 1990s. I am old enough to remember it very well. That is when Glock started selling ALOT of pistols to police departments around the USA. When this happened, the cops had some training (a day or two) to transition themselves from DA/SA and revolvers to Glocks with "no manual safety." These "new to no manual safety" cops promptly began to shoot holes in everything around them. There was even a famous name made up, for when they shot themselves in the leg. It was called GLOCK LEG! you can google it. Never underestimate the ability of a public servant to blame his misfortune, poor performance and injury, on the maker of his tools. It wasn't Glock's fault then, it is not SIG's fault now.
