I just got a 365 xl and 3 years since this video they have improved the latest version. They have changed the optic plate in two ways: 1. It now has screws accessible from the top without having to remove the slide. 2. The rear sights are now separated from the plate so they stay on so you can keep them there if you install an optic. Perfect carry gun.

First off great review!, I am a big Glock guy, ended up buying both the 365, for the wife and the XL for me , ergonomics plus the ability to have 15 round magazines and a 12 round regular capacity is hard to beat. great little guns. Sig has officially taken the lead in the EDC world for micro pistols.

My p365xl I bought 7/12/19 just replaced my glock 19. 2k rounds through my p365 with 0.00 malfunctions. Will be shooting the XL tomorrow. Can't wait for the Romeo zero to get out in gun shops.

I was thinking the same thing! But I wouldn’t “replace “ the G19 due to it’s long proven track record and much higher ammo capacity options. If the XL proves to be a reliable capable firearm and can run reliably suppressed ( need a threaded barrel option) then yes actually replace the Glock! But until that happens I will keep both!

Given the 365xl does eventually prove reliable; It makes concealing a g19 seem kind of old fashioned doesn't it? Now if you are going to open carry in whatever context; hunting, LE, zombie apocalypse, Texan, etc. G19 is still amazing.

I was a Smith & Wesson M&P die hard. This Sig P365 XL has replaced my 380 EZ and 9c for my EDC. Holsters are a little hard to find right now and I modified an extra paddle holster I had for my EZ's Fits like a duck to water. I have not had a malfunction in over 400 rounds. I still carry my Smiths on certain occasions but for EDC the Sig is on my hip.

Picked up a standard P365 last week. Finally had a chance to put some rounds through it. Fired 150 rounds. No problem. No malfunctions or primer drag. Very happy. Hope this continues.

I recently picked up one of these. I haven't shot it yet. When testing the trigger reset; man the slide is almost impossible to pull back. This thing is really tight. I hope after putting a few rounds through this blaster it loosens up

Yeah mine has the same issue, put some rounds through it and it should slowly work its way out. By any chance when you pull the trigger for the first time after racking the slide do you notice any movement in the slide? Mine feels like it moves about a millimeter, it’s kind of a weird feeling And was definitely something I noticed

Excellent review, you covered pretty much everything someone would want to know. I own a P 365 with over 4,600 rounds thru it flawlessly. Primer drag hasn't been a concern even though it's there. Have the 10,12 and 15 round magazines all function perfectly. Do I really need the XL? Well I'm on the fence as the original fits my small frame so well but I like the new features. The Romeo Red dot has built in rear irons which I like. Red dots are the future of handguns. Thanks for the wonderful review!

Very informative video. Thanks..... I bought the p365 micro in February of 2019, the born on date was 1-30-19. I was well aware of the proublems sig had in their early releases. It was kind of ironic i went to the show looking for the cz p10s. I have the cz p10c and i love it and i thought if it was smaller like a sub compact it would be the perfect handgun. Well its almost mid july and i still cant find one. Cz is shooting themselves in the foot. Anyway on kind of an impulse i bought the micro. What a beast. Love the trigger dig on the grip i really like the sights. It came with two ten round mags. I sent away for four 12 round mags and later i got one fifteen round mag. I got somewhere between 8 and 9 hundred rounds through it. A couple of the 12 and the 15 round mag as well i have to back one round off cause i just cant fit that last round in there. I have had two stove pipes and thats it. However it has striker drag on every round. Other than that its one kick ass handgun. Anyway im more than likely going to get the xl and finally i may have the perfect handgun. Thanks.

I just bought the P365XL I haven’t pick it up yet because I went back on the road trucking before 72hrs was up. IL law. I will take my wife with me to pick it up and let them transfer the registration to her name. That will be her first gun buy. It will be her valentine present I have been watching a lot of reviews and videos on the 365XL and I love it.

Great video well done . Were you aware that if you purchase a Glock g43x you can purchase an aftermarket magazine that holds 15 rounds which is flush with the grip on the 43X. From Shield Arms. Looks damn impressive.

great review covering all the basics of these guns. Just got the xl ordered cant wait to shoot it. Mind you I was looking at guns that were 3 times the cost and decided on this one once I held it in hand. Just didn't make sense to spend the extra money on something that wasn't as ergo and shootable. Did you ever do any follow video on your longer term impressions on this like you mentioned?

sig even mentions on their website that these 2 fire arms are so tightly built they both require around 200 rounds to loosen them up. so any complaints before that number i completely disregard as bs. after 200 then you can have your voice

I prefer my appendix carry with some sort of either trigger(for striker fired) or thumb safety (1911 style). In your opinion, do you think it's absolutely safe for the p365 and xl varant without manual safety to be carried appendix? I love these guns, but wished they had a trigger safety. I don't prefer manual safety unless it's da/sa hammer or 1911 s/a.

In my experience, the XL is slightly more accurate for me and more comfortable to shoot. The micro is a great CC option but the XL is a slightly better shooter so if you can comfortably carry the XL, then it might be a better choice. If not, the micro is still an excellent option. Why replace the micro when you can own both :-) My guess is Sig will be offering more parts and exchange kits down the road as well so you might have other options in the months and years ahead.

AZ Trigger - thank you for responding. I didn’t get to shoot the XL yesterday but will do so Monday. I’ve never ‘enjoyed’ shooting the P365 although I’m very accurate with it. To me, such a small pistol in 9mm is simply not enjoyable to shoot. It is my main edc gun though. Looking forward to shooting the XL. Thanks again.

The striker causes the slide Any of the new models (so far 2020) don’t have it. I ordered a new striker to replace the current one in my April 2019 model. It functions fine, but my other two (2020 models) don’t have it, so I’m a firm believer they changed it for a reason and I don’t want to experience what that reason was

I have a P365 micro with over 2,000 rounds of various types and power without a failure. It was born on May 17, 2018 and I have 10 and 12 round mags for it. The beauty of it is as small as it is, it more accurate than many bigger 9mms by many other manufacturers. In the summer I can carry it in my pocket and in the winter I can wear it on a belt or iwb with a larger magazine, but I can’t do the same with the XL. Ergo why mess with success?

Agreed. If you only want a small pocket gun, then the micro is probably your best option. I just see people shooting the 365 platform more than usual so I'm sure there are a number of people that will like the shootability of the XL slightly better. Either way, you have two great choices.

Sig is really offering us (another) $1100 product that happens to be a two gun system that can be fitted to any CC need.

Sam Winston James: I ordered my P365XL then ordered additional 12 round mags plus one 15 round mag. The 12 round mag that fit the regular P365 will not fit into the P365XL and visa versa. The 15 round mags will fit both P365 and P365XL. The 12 round mags for the P365XL must be completely flush. Even when taking off the sleeves on the 12 round mags, they still will not fit ... most likely I assume because of the XL magwell. They went in but did not click-in securely. Wish that had been mentioned when Sig first started promoting the XL. No other review has touched upon this issue either that I have come across.

@@gordongreeson6923 Both the 12 and 15 round mags just require one to swap the base plates- there are p365 bplates and XL bplates. Sig sells them, and some have said when they called that Sig sent them free.

Not sure I like the flat trigger, would be nice to have an option for standard trigger. I hate how the frame doesnt extend under the dust cover, many other guns do the same thing. Overall not impressed, rather stick with original.

Sig will eventually offer a p365xl with manual safety and the grip modules cut for it, but they're in no rush because industry sales data show the vast majority of pistols are bought without manual safeties because the majority of customers don't want MS.

I have had the 365 for 3 weeks, I have shot 800 rds. Of blazer brass through it without an issue. I purchased a box of Fereral Home Defense Hydra-Shok hollow points and had repeated failure to feed in all 3 of my mags. 10rd,12rd,and 15rd. The nose of the rounds hang on the front edge of the mag. I took photos and sent them to Sig 10 days ago with no response. I purchased a box of Sig 365 hollow points and got similar results but not as bad as the Federal. I have also seen several other reviewers with the same issue. I love Sig firearms but am very concerned with the results and response from Sig. Have you seen this issue?

I bought a P365XL at On Sight Shooting in Casa Grande and got one 12-round mag and purchased a Sig 15-round mag which fell about 12 inches and exploded into parts and ammo. I now have one mag for carry, no spare, and one POS that I dare not carry. The Sig 15-rd mag is a big disappointment and a big let down as far as Sig quality goes. I understand I am supposed to get another 12-round magazine from Sig, with no estimated date of arrival. Great video, BTW.

The stainless steel frame is part of the trigger assembly which is housed inside the polymer grip module. It’s all become a bit different with these modular pistol systems.

It’s a shame that Sigg went all polymer. The 365 in the 320 both had failures. If you would like a nice egg and you can get a hold of it get a Sigg P2 39 and 40 caliber, then get a 357 sig. barrel for it

The broken striker tip problem was resolved over a year ago in June '18 and broken strikers essentially ended in p365s made after that. Primer drag marks are normal and not something that any manufacturer needs to resolve.
