You know, there are hundreds (maybe thousands) of great heavy bands. I have never heard anything remotely like Sigh. They're irreplaceable.

This song is really cool, the keyboards and accent contribute to the overall jazzy feeling, in a way.

Been listening to Sigh since they were "Japan's answer to Emperor". Love it all.
@HaXxorIzed17 жыл бұрын
Sigh are well known for experiment with Jazz/Psychadelic influences. This album was probably their most pronounced in that direction. Their latest has gone in a blackened thrash/atmosphereic/classical metal influence, with uses of everything from a choir to punk and doom riffage in places. Sigh went down the same path a lot of Black Metal bands do. They've become clearly Avant-Garde.

Yukito Okazaki (Eternal Elysium) provided the operatic vocals on that song. He engineered "Imaginary Sonicscape."

Sigh is unusually good at singing in english for a japanese band.

@CrazyMetalMachine yep, I like the accent and "flaws" usually make band more unique and they deliver something different than the usual one strict genre bands.

I don't know what's so avant-garde about this song. Just oldschool keyboard driven hardrocker with japanese vocals... anyway, it's awesome.

Switched styles again with their album "Gallows Gallery" and decided to do an all clean album. Not to bad in my opinion, I do prefer their screams still due atmosphere, but this also has a nice touch.

Has a nice 60's flavor to it. Plenty of colors, a laid back, sun-bleached sound with just a pinch of Charles Manson. Nice. :D

@Flowerpunkt16 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with you..with one exception - I doubt that Sigh is avant-garde band. Some of their stuff is kinda experimental (thats why they are better than most of black metal bands, they do not afraid to try new things), but not avant-garde. Avant-garde is mainly modern classical music.

yeah man i totally agree. I respect that because at least they're always switching up their music instead of playing the same redundant shit like some black metal bands. Hangman's Hymn....all i gotta say is..masterpiece. I also saw them last night, and they killed. FUCK YEAH.

Some would do well to heed the disclaimer from Hail Horror Hail: "Every sound on this album is deliberate and if you find that some parts of the album are strange, it isn't because the music in itself strange, but because your conscious self is ill-equipped to comprehend the sounds produced on this recording." And realize Sigh is not for kiddies who just want to listen to metal and be angry at the world while they steal drinks from daddy's fridge.
@Daarkvader16 жыл бұрын
also Sigh's inspiration actually comes from the 1 of the originators of BM, Venom! Look at how much venom covers they hav done! Sigh is no poser band.. they've been usin keyboards way before most BM bands. 5th. Sigh is Better than Dimmu. 6th. Sigh most black metal albums are Infidel art and scorn defeat. Hail Horror is partly avant-garde.7th Sigh is the best avantgarde band out there.8th English metal is gay(Cradle)..Sigh is not. i could go on... again i say to the uneducated, SIGH IS THA SHIT!

The remastered version is a bit disappointing. The production is improved, but they cut some of the vocals (namely from In a Drowse), and the intro on Confessions to be Buried has been completely removed. The bonus tracks are nothing spectacular. I really enjoyed this album, but the remaster isn't necessary if you already own it.

@Bovokk What you're suggesting my directive is is completely irrelevant. Read my comment again. It says that bands from japan don't duck because they're from japan. A lot of bands from Japan just suck. It's not because of where they're from that I say this.
@ProfaneZugzwang17 жыл бұрын
After weatching this vid a couple time idk how anyone can say its NOT metal. It sounds hella heavy and thick, with ample amounts of psychedelic rock thrown in. I wish they'd mix this material with their older black metal stuff!....Now there'd be a crazy sound!!!

Sigh rules. ALL of their stuff rules. From real black metal to their experimental shit. As for this song, it's still pretty metal. Bass and guitar heavy. Its got a thick sound reminiscent of early metal bands with some awesome experimental elements mixed in. Sounds metal to me. Yes, their newest album attempts to go back to their black metal days. I've yet to listen to it so idk if it's any good or if its even really real black metal or some gay crap that most bm bands put out nowadays.
@flagwatch17 жыл бұрын
I have to say I really miss _Hail Horror Hail_ and _Infidel Art_. There are just too many repetitions and choruses in this new album. It's still odd, but it lacks the complexity it had, what kept me coming back.
