Sighting In The CBE Engage Hybrid

I just bought the 3-pin version and this video is a godsend. Plus, this sight can do just about anything. There’s definitely a learning curve but, it’s well worth it.

Best video I’ve seen on this sight. I had the single pin version which I used for TAC and got the 3 pin version for hunting season after seeing this video. Love that I have CBE sights for all my archery needs!!

This was an excellent and very helpful video! I have a Tactic Hybrid Three Pin and I really like it. I am a senior (73 years old) and have my pins set at 10 - 20 - 30. I use the 10 for squirrel hunting. I use the middle 20 for my home pin for my tape sight. The poundage is quite light on my PSE Stinger that I used to replace my1986 PSE that was getting too heavy for me. Because the poundage is so low, even the 20 scale is not quite spread out enough. I thought I might have to draw my own tape until I came up with the idea to calculate the difference and put the sight tape sheet into the copier and set the zoom to 116%. That worked great with scotch tape sealing and securing it. This limits me to 65 yards but that is plenty for me. For those who think this is slow, it is all in perspective. Many were pleased to get past the 200 fps mark back in the '80s with the 2216s as I shot. :-) I did sight in at 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60. All works well but if Darrin could do a video on the Tactic Hybrid sighting in, that would be Super!! Thanks!!

I just the trek single pin I got the axis set at the shop, when I get my windage dialed in at 20 it should be good at any distance correct? I haven’t ever used any CBE stuff till now lol

Definitely tune your bow first at lower range.. make sure your bow is tuned properly, tearing paper right. Then you can use this excellent video.

You mentioned that home was 60. When I have the 3pin. Will it work if my home is 40? I sighted it in at 30-60 for the tape just individual pin now

I have 2 of the hybrids and I have 2 ultraview sites the UV 3 and the UV 3XL are those are good options for the hybrid

It depends on which hybrid sight you have. If its a Engage it will not adapt, If its a TREK you can make it work if you rotate the windage tube 90 degrees within the clamp.

Im seriouly looking to purchase the 5pin model, but I have the following question....Will the sight tapes or increments stay the same if I sight my bow in on meters instead of yards?

Theoretically yes you may just have to use a slower sight tape than someone who is using yards because meters are longer than yards

So what about a 3 pin set with 20,30,40 pins? Would you do the 30-60 sight in with the bottom still and then move the rover back to have the bottom pin at 40? This is so confusing to me

9:30 should be the method you use. That’s how Black Gold sights work.

That was my big concern with a 3 pin as well. I think what we have to do to get the most accurate result is go through the procedure as Darrin outlined. Then, once we have the correct sight tape and have established our 60 yard point and have moved the red needle (not the slider wheel) to match that point, THEN (1) roll the slider wheel to 40 yards, (2) lock the wheel down and (3) start sighting in our other pins 30 and 20 yards. Essentially, what we have done is made the 40 yard mark our "home." Anyway, that's the procedure I'm using. Hope it helps.

@@srmjr4200 I got mine sighted in this past Thursday. I did it the old school way like I have with the last 2 sliders I’ve had and found my 20-60 gaps on the white tape. Then I adjusted the wheel so the pointer was at 40 (after selecting the correct tape) and made sure my bottom pin was good (it was) and then adjusted just the individual pins for my 20 and 30. Verified I had correct tape with a 71 yard 10 ring shot. Very pleased with this sight now that I stopped over complicating it lol

@@BeardedSportsman Awesome, man! That's not too differently than I was suggesting, just using 20yds instead of 30yds. So I guess this meant you didn't use the measuring tool to select the correct tape. How easy (or complicated) was it to select the correct sight tape without the tool?

@@srmjr4200 I just made a mark at 20 and worked my way out to 40 and made a mark and then got to 60 and made a mark. That way I have the wide span of 20-60 to find the tape and the 40 mark to be precise when choosing the tape. Then I just went through the tapes and found the one where the 20,40,60 lines matched my marks
