This tip is gold! I never knew about using a far pin for close distances until I started shooting indoor 3D leagues up here in Alaska. When trying to use my 20 yard pin at first I was blown away lol.

Shoot at a hanging string at 9ft and adjust left/right on sight. Missing left or right past 9ft its either form or your rest needs adjusted. You eliminate the sight because left and right wont ever change just your verticle. Also use the 20 pin and shoot 30,40,50,60 etc... if the arrows form a line like / or \ you know you need to adjust the rest.

On my bow, from a distance of 3 feet or 1m, you need to aim like from 30m, from 5m-like from 20m depends on the bow actually. I use two pins up to 30m with the same sight as yours, setting the distance on a scale of 10 m so as not to waste time setting the distance at close distances and immediately shoot the first pin 10 the second 30m and more than 30m you can already set the distance on the scale, I think it's convenient.

Have you messed with precision cut archery? I use their software with a LabRadar. I put in the speed at 30 and 70 yards and the sight takes have been spot on

Thank you again Mr Dudley, I was just thinking about this last night as I have a new bow and no markings on my sight. Thinking if this would work. Only question is, is there a distance in meters? As I’m in Australia and use metric not imperial.

Hang a string for a target and shoot at the string from 9ft or less. Adjust your left and right on the site until you can cut the string in half. Once there your left/right is perfect now need to find your yardage marks. If you use kilometers instead of yards you can get site tapes made that way. Figure out what 20 yards is and start there.

So idk why Dudley and other pros do this and not answer the questions they know they are going to get. So all the rod does is move your cables closer to the riser for a RH shooter. This takes a little lean out of the cams. Now I have a screen shot from Dudley saying he did it because of tune. Tune is relative and subjective to the user. My guess Dudley is based on group sizes he’s trying to achieve. You lose poundage doing this and in my test I lost speed after getting poundage back. My two cents

He's a great instructor. I’ve learned a lot from his videos and am very thankful for them. As for the little side track, he was showing two quick tips for a beginner that may otherwise not hit the bag at 20 yards.

He says 3 feet about 6 times and 3 yards once... He took about 5 or 6 semi heel to toe steps in the video then took his shot then grabbed the arrows n took about 3 short strides.... So I'd say he's standing approx 5 to 6 feet from the bag so the bow is close 3 or 4 feet from the bag...? So yeah, 3 feet Suck it and see I guess... He's The Duds, so much info in his brain he uses the wrong words every now and again, but he knows what he means lol Great video BTW
