Can you see a weather-sealing gasket on the lens mount? There didn't seem to be one from what I could see in your video.

I thought it was made for APS-C. Are you sure there’s still a 1.5x crop factor?
@saifaldin_3 жыл бұрын
It’s made for APS-C and there is still a 1.5x crop when mounted to an APS-C body. In fact, any lens put on an APS-C body will have a crop, because it’s the body (w a smaller sensor) that does the cropping, not the lenses. A lens being designed for APS-C or FF simply means they’re optimised for different sized sensors. An APS-C prime normally wouldn’t produce an image circle big enough to cover a FF sensor.

@Thomas in 4k move the camera as little and as slow as possible (especially when panning). If you have to record big movements (camera movements of fast moving objects) switch to 1080 @ high FPS (60/120), the rolling shutter is greatly reduced in high FPS modes. Hope this helps.

I have Sigma 56mm with my Sony a6400. Even though it is an amazing lens for portraits, it is very hard to get some background in the image. Especially if you take full body shots. I am 6'3", take self portraits, and in the images there are not much background. If you put camera very far then, focus gets lost as you are very far away. I am planning to get 16mm or 30 mm to be honest but could not decide.

After having bought and tested the 30mm F/1.4 on my a6100, I'm looking forward to add this lens to my collection in the future: I can see it being my go-to option for portraits, but knowing the actual situation, it may be a long time until we can go back making portraits without masks... I'll probably buy I wider angle lens first, that would be more usable for my KZbin channels. I can't decide between a Samyang 12mm F/2 NCS CS and the Sigma 16mm F/1.4. The first one would be great for architecture, landscapes, street photography, but maybe too wide angle for my KZbin videos. The latter is a little bit tighter, can gather way more light and has better autofocus, but it costs like 60/70% more than the Samyang...
@HardDrumStep4 жыл бұрын
I recenrtly bought the Sigma 16mm F/1.4 and I couldn't be more happy with it. The clarity, the bokkah even for such wide aperture is amaaaaazing. You will definitely NOT regret if you go for the Sigma even if it's more pricey than the Samyang. My next lens will be the 56 for sure, gotta have from the both worlds! :)
@justbeingamir89764 жыл бұрын
I own the samyang 12mm f2 and il say even though it's a good budget option that's for the purpose of landscape and interior style shots, the sharpness is alright but the distortion is quite bad , on my copy at least, the manual focus ring is quite stiff and hard to reach especially when the lens hood is on, so il recommend you to save the extra 1-200 and go for the sigma 16mm 1.4, it's much sharper and easier to work with especially with what you aim to do, KZbin videos as you said

The biggest problem or failure of this lens is the Af S failure at 1.7 to 2.8. In this area it has big front or backfocus problems at distances over one Meter. It makes me angry. Sony and sigma know this Problem and they do nothing to get it fixed. When you use Af C the problem didn't appear.
@cooloox4 жыл бұрын
That's weird. I just bought this lens 3 days ago for the Canon M6 Mark 2 and it focuses flawlessly in bursts of cyclists, joggers, skateboarders, scooters, etc. coming straight at the camera with the lens wide open at f/1.4. No issues at all keeping up with 14fps. Literally every shot in focus. Are you saying if I stop down a bit, it'll focus inaccurately, or is this just an issue with the Sony version mounted on Sony cameras?
@DoctorF19844 жыл бұрын
@@cooloox It is an issue that only happens with Sony cameras. Especially on the 6000/6300/6500. Sigma and Sony know this problem, but they are not able to fix this Problem since years. It appears at single Af from F1.7 to F2.2 and F2.5. At F2.8 and above (slower F Stops) the problem has gone. It appears at distances over 1 meter. The 16mm 30 and 56mm having this problem. When you use follow focus (Af C) everything works great but its annoying. The crazy thing is, at F1.4 the 56mm works great with Af-S. Sometimes i think, Sigma did this failure by knowing it, because the lens would be to good for the prices. Maybe they get scared of dont selling their more expensive Art lenses to the Sony customers. I dont understand that such big companys are not able to solve this problem. Is it black magic or what.....

Wouldn't it be great if lens reviewers focus more on videos rather than still images? KZbin and now even Instagram is more about videos rather than pictures. The same lens, that is good for photography, shows problems while doing videography. Sadly, most of the lens geniuses even on KZbin focus solely and exclusively on photography.
