I wonder what happened to the STAR unit we find at the start of the game, a part of me hopes she managed to get out safely and lived

If the loop only affects sierpinski (think of the exclusion zone from STALKER) it is very likely that the unaffected replikas have a good chance to get out, especially storch sieban and the star at the start since the elevator to the surface is seen to be functioning

Genuinely felt bad for these Replikas. They are made in such a way that they require bland little happiness in life just to stay sane. They are basically a cutout of a gestalt's moment in life, made into a whole life. They have a harsher if not simpler life than the replicas in Bladerunner. Though I guess even gestalt's life are not that much batter. I like Star units especially since guns are also my fetish objects...

I mean, it’s implied that the “degradation” is actually the Nation’s term for a Replika deviating from their intended purpose (we see this with the Ara that’s just…down there, tending her plants). Probably still dangerous (after all, I’m pretty sure they’re reconciling with their engram, which is probably not pleasant if this is the case), but not nearly as dangerous as the Nation presents it. In this case, though, the effects of “degradation” are amplified by the corruption by an alarming amount.

I think it's kind of interesting how some replikas can develop romantic feelings for other replikas (like the Star and the Eule in the mine), despite replikas themselves being intended as unfeeling automatons, I wonder if the awakening of Gestalt memories has some influence on that. Great lore video as always.
@ivansmirnov7342 Жыл бұрын
They could’ve been close friends. There’s nothing in the scene suggesting that their relationship involves romance. And no, they are not intended as automatons. The fact that they have emotions and can form relationships is fully acknowledged by the officials. There are tons of notes in the game that describe the personalities of various neural patterns. And these aren’t just personal notes of some local handyman. Those are official manuals.

I discovered this game recently, and it's pretty mind blowing. It's also fun for me because I speak a little German. As you've already covered in a previous video, "Eule" means "owl" in German, but it's pronounced 'Oi-le' with two syllables. Use a hard "Oi" as in "Oil" for the first syllable, and the "Le" sound in "Letter" for the second syllable. German pronunciation is way different than English. Consonants get rammed together but you never ignore vowels. "Tschüss" ("bye", used informally with friends and family) for example, is only one syllable. It's a fun language, but has is challenges.
@rayyanali4471 Жыл бұрын
I mistook these for Storches and I wondered why there weren't a single STAR unit enemy in the game. I guess some of the enemies feel a bit too redundant in the game. Like the Eules, basic Storches and STARS look too similar and have similar kind of Attacks. The game have included STAR minibosses equipped with magnums.

I watched all your videos on Signalis. I really appreciate all the work you put and it did help me better understand the lore of the game. I played this game extensively and have all the achievements, but I still have some unanswered questions. 1. To me there seems to be two settings going with the station existing and Elster with Ariana story of exploring for inhabitable planets. What dosen't make sense is that the Elster and Ariana didn't find any inhabitable planets in the the sector they were sent into. So retrospectively how does the the station exist if their is not supposed to be any outpost in the sector where Elster with Ariana were exploring? My theory is there is a time jump between the events since Elster with Ariana are precursor to finding the planet. After they crash Ariana is is in deep cryosleep. And the station is built way later after they crash into the planet. Can you tell me what are your thoughts on this? 2. Also do you think Ito Isa is a memory recreation from Ariana memory. Since it clearly indicated that both sisters died in the past do you think that Isa is a memory copy just as Elster is and both Ito and Elster are created from Ariana's memories? 3. Do you know if Ara construction units appear in the game. I thought before they were supposed to be those tall beaked units.

1-Leng is within the solar system, seeing as the penrose crashes into it I think it’s safe to say that space is distorted not time (in this case) as the Penrose flew beyond the solar system yet crashed within it. 2-I do not believe that Isa is a creation of Ariane, seeing as Isa is shown doing the ritual, I rather believe that Isa is just someone who has entered the distortion much like Elster and Falke did, how this is possible is due to a time distortion which I partially explained in my “Space and Time are dead” video. 3-Ara units are the ones that climb out of vents
@eonnova2032 Жыл бұрын
@@Cristiferbeast Thank you for the response. I think your right on this one since with all prof of time and space distortions that would make more sense to the story. Now that think about it more, its unlikely that Ariana could have survived for many years in cryosleep after the crash since their are sounds of radiation going out from the reactor. Even a cryochamber probably can't block radiation that coming from the reactor. Plus after the crash I doubt many of the Penrose ship systems would be intact to support her for prolonged period of time. Its more likely that they both crashed on the planet because of a space distortion. For Isa, I think that would make sense since maybe its Isa from different time before she died.
@AWesker28 Жыл бұрын
@@Cristiferbeast Excuse me, but when you mention that Isa is shown doing a ritual, what exactly are you referring to? The way I see it, it makes sense that Isa is a manifestation of Ariane's subconscious, after all, both Isa and Erika got to know Ariane. Although I think that Isa is not the only manifestation, in fact at the beginning of the game we see how Elster takes a photo where Ariane appears, but at the moment we come into contact with The King in Yellow an event occurs where it seems that Elster's memories they get upset and instead of going to look for Ariane, they go looking for a certain Alina, I think this really existed a long time ago, possibly it belongs to some very deep memories of Elster from when he was Gestalt or human. The funny thing is that during the installations we read notes from this Alina scattered all over the place, in these notes Alina even mentions being worried about Elster. Possibly Alina came to exist in these facilities thanks to Elster's lost memories. I am not saying that you are not right when you mention that there is a space-time issue, in fact there is clear evidence that everything occurs in a kind of loop where certain elements are repeated, although there are also advances in time, but some of these elements temporary can be caused by memories of Ariane and Elster. The point is that it is not known why Isa is the only one that has manifested and instead her sister Erika does not appear anywhere, the only explanation I see for this would be the fact that symbolically the facilities have become a kind of of living hell where those who have died are trapped. In other words, Isa is the only one there because she's the only one who died, while her sister Erika was still alive, but that somewhat contradicts the idea that they're manifestations of Ariane's memories.

@@AWesker28 there is a frame during I think l the fakeout or startup that shows Isa doing the ritual. So I disagree with any theory that says she isn’t real
@AWesker28 Жыл бұрын
@@Cristiferbeast When is that framework you mention shown? I'm not telling you that Isa as such can't be real either, I think it's something so ambiguous that we really can't know if she's real or not. What you mention about the ritual could be something that actually happened or it could be something symbolic, like the book The King in Yellow, which is based on a novel that exists in our reality. It is also unclear for what purpose Isa would perform a ritual, perhaps to retrieve his twin sister? Perhaps the one who really died was Erika and Isa did the ritual to try to get her back, the game tries to justify everything that is happening with bioresonance, but it has some elements that are rather supernatural or fantastic. The final conclusion is that things happen in this game that it is impossible to know for sure if they are real or not. Some have even gone so far as to speculate that everything that is happening in the game is nothing more than the result of Ariane's dying mind, but if so, the event of Alina, who is clearly a person who met Elster, could not. occur. . when she existed as a gestalt or human

I get that y'all want to defend it on the grounds of "its horror the action should be simple" but OG ResEvil had a bunch of different enemies with varying degrees of uniqueness to them (not counting visual changes) and emphasis on action can work out well as long as you aren't given goobers to slap about, Dead Space1&2 got that perfectly right. So action isn't the problem it's how it's executed.
