I suffered severe anxiety, panic attacks and mental disorder 20 years ago as a teenage. Got diagnosed with OCD. Spent my whole life fighting OCD. Not until my mom recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 6 years totally clean. Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms.

100% agree I used to have Psychosis and paranoid thoughts like "people thinking about me talking about me etc. Very odd behavior after getting off Adderall from 7-16. Antidepressants at 18-29. 31 now. I took way to much, but took about 20g of Gold caps (Psilocybin containing mushroom) I analyzed my entire life. The emotions that came out helped me understand behavior etc more. Wont ever need to do it again because I'm happy and contempt forever, but I wish more people did this to alter their perception of reality. Would help with healing much trauma

I wish they were readily available in my place. Microdosing was my next plan of care for my husband. He is 59 & has so many mental health issues plus probable CTE & a TBI that left him in a coma 8 days. It's too late now I had to get a TPO as he's 6'6 300+ pound homicidal maniac. He's constantly talking about killing someone. He's violent. Anyone reading this Familiar w/ BPD know if it is common for an obsession with violence.

I was horrifically depressed since childhood. It was relentless. I assumed it would ultimately end me somehow. About twelve years ago I randomly accepted the offer from a friend of a few doses of mushrooms. I did them two consecutive nights alone. First night was pretty mild. The second night? Wow. I saw my depression from every angle, realized much. Next day: depression totally gone. Never came back, never coming back. It's like it's a forest far away I can remember, and could probably find again with enough effort, but it has zero impact on anything in my life or mind. They honestly saved my life and improved it immensely. I never did them again, either. I wish there was a good, organized way to administer them to people who would benefit from them.

My moms an odd mix. Just last night I had a panic attack with anxiety symptoms that lasted for 4 days. The day it triggered and set me off completely into a spiral was on the night we had a shooting and explosion at our next door neighbor. I thought I was fine. Till I laid down and thought I was dying with all the symptoms happening. I called my mom and she said to come to see her. She calmed me down, held me, put on music and spoke to me calmly. She asked me questions and reminded me I did this when I was a kid. But this time I begged her to take me to the er. We get there and she's tired cuz of the day we had. But she usually complains later in some way shape or form that makes me feel awful

If you don't, I hope you find someone that doesn't freak out once your panic attack starts (it makes it even worse), or being ignorant about your struggles. Omg same like they’re crazy! I had another panic attack today and it literally came out of nowhere. I was watching a youtube video and I suddenly had trouble breathing. And because I had trouble breathing I got so scared and that made things worse. My heart was beating SO HARD. It felt like it was about to rip out of my chest. There was this weird heat going to my head (I think it’s called a hot flush) and all I was thinking about was dying. I literally thought it was the end for me there. I ran to my mom, cause she’s the only one that can calm me down. She told me to stay calm, breathe and stop thinking about it. After like 2-4 minutes it went away. I’m so thankful that this one didn’t take long. I had one that took more than an hour and that’s HELL.

I used to have bad panic attacks. The best piece of advice I will give is you have to learn to live with it. It LOVES attention and you can think about anything you want besides your anxiety. You can think about your stocks, loved ones, your fun day planned tomorrow but we had chosen to scrutinize how we feel. The brain is plastic, meaning it changes to how we think about all the time. Spend less and less time thinking about your anxiety and the brain will gradually change. Calm people dont think about panicking

My heart goes out to everyone experiencing this. I just experienced my second panic attack but this time it was not at home but in public. I was in a restaurant and i instantly felt funny. My heart was pounding really fast and hard, my hands got sweaty, i started to get the chills, i felt dizzy, i felt like i was dreaming and i seriously felt like i was going to pass out and die. I thought i was having a heart attack. It got to the point where i started to grab cold water from my cup and started splashing it on my face, fanning myself with the menu and i couldn't keep still. I didn't want to make a scene. My legs felt shakey and weak when i stood up and when i finally got into the vehicle, the sun helped me feel a little back to earth. I felt so weak in the car ride home, like i could fall asleep if i just closed my eyes. It was so hard to think or act normal in the restaurant. I just kept taking deep breaths. Praying to god. Scariest experience of my life!!!!!!!!!!! The first time i experienced a panic attack was when i was cooking meat which i hate but it was for my partner. I instantly felt dizzy, light headed and i couldn't stand anymore, i ended up ditching the food and have someone take over. I kept taking deep breaths and just laid down. Worst experiences of my damn life!!!! I was having a good day too today and this happened. Ugh... anyone experiencing this BREATHE, DEEPLY AND SLOWLY! YOU WILL NOT DIE, YOU WILL NOT PASS OUT AS LONG AS YOU ARE TAKING DEEP BREATHS!!!! SUPPOSEDLY IT ONLY LASTS UP TO 15 MINUTES. BREATHE IT OUT!!!!!!!! YOU WILL NOT DIE, JUST BREATHE!!!!!! 🤍

im super confused about whats happening with me. I have a huge fear of feeling/being sick. its When ever i over eat, have caffeine, or sometimes just randomly late at night i start to panic. And the panic is random but because i get nauseous it makes the panic worse. Its silent, but inside theres this horrible feeling in my chest and throat, my hands feel sweaty, my face feel likes its hot and cold at the same time, and i start to kinda tremble, my heart rate and breathing rate quicken, and feel increasingly sick. I also physically cannot do ANYTHING when this happens like if i even get up it makes stuff worse. It comes in waves after that but it gets to the point where im panicking so bad i wish i could just die. Im so scared at that point aswell because i feel so sick and that makes the panic so so so much worse. It lasts for hours until it finally dies down, and then i can never sleep after. and if it happens during the day, i have to leave the room and if someone tries to speak to me it makes everything worse. last time my vision went black and i was really dizzy and it almost felt like the world around me stopped. I also commonly get really nervous for tiny things. Whats going onnnn? sorry if thats alot ive just never been able to find an answer

I had first anxiety attack at 53 last year when hubby had mild case of covid and I was scared to death of getting it and dying since I’m obese. We had three close people to die with it same time hubby caught it so thats why I panicked. I found that Calm gummies that has magnesium in it to help me a lot.

Thought I should leave a message here saying you’re all very brave and my heart goes out to all of you. With that said, I did a lot of research after my first panic attack and read that drinking a lot of alcohol can play a big part in anxiety and panic attacks. There’s a ton of success stories that state how people stopped getting panic attacks and general anxiety once they went sober. I had to learn the hard way, but I had to learn eventually. If you’re a drinker and it feels like your anxiety has gotten worse over time then that means it’s time to stop drinking.

Most important thing to remember is that it's all in your head. I've had panic attacks beginning at age 26 until today, when I'm 34. I get them all the time. I actually had three this week. The head tingling, chest tightness. Panting. Blackening vision. What worked for me is that I transformed my understanding of it. Rather than accepting that panic attacks are "attacks," or even a panicked state of mind, I just relaxed and let them wash over me. Panic attacks are scary when someone tells you that you've had one. Because the two words - panic and attack - are scary. But the experience itself isn't scary. It's no different than the tickle you get on a Rollercoaster. That is - until someone else tells you it's different. You know how some people need glasses? Well, we don't say they have panic vision, do we? Why not? They need the glasses all the time - there's clearly something seriously wrong with them. They have a chronic, degenerative, disability. Yet poor eyesight isn't really "seen" as being that serious, is it? So why are panic attacks worse? Why do people with panic attacks feel the need to isolate? While people who are functionally unable to drive cars, run cash registers or operate machinery get a free pass? If you get panic attacks - remember - there are people that can't see the world correctly AT ALL. Ever. Despite their emotional state, they're unable to read road signs or distinguish objects. Without their glasses, they're functionality impaired FOREVER. They are classically retarded (in the sense that they are less physically developed than usual for their age). So step one is to stop listening to bullshit videos like this. Because it's all a bunch of shit. You aren't any less capable than someone else. Your panic attacks only lasts a short while. Their disability is life long and only gets worse. But nobody shames them. You're "blind" during your panic attacks. Yes, you are. But guess what? It all goes away once it's over!! If someone with glasses, a person who has accepted slowly becoming blind can live a normal life, then so can we. Our problem is far less serious than terminal blindness. Yes, I still get panic attacks. Yes, I hear the voices of those around me stretch away like I'm in a long hall. Yes, things go black around me. Yes, it fucking sucks to try and breathe sometimes. But seriously, I just ignore it. Our bodies are all different. Mine happens to have these unique fail points that most of my friend's don't. So what. The world isn't ending just because my body is throwing a tantrum. It's just a body. Same as yours. If this really is "normal" for you, then you can adapt to it. You don't need to lay down and cry every time, just find a seat on a couch and rest your head for a minute. You don't have to announce you're having one. Just have it. Please, if you experience the same things, don't allow yourself to feel like a victim. Don't let people tell you you're weak. At least not until they tell people with glasses that being blind is a problem too

The first reaction in the video was my experience, and it's nice to know I'm not alone. The first few times it happened I thought I was having a heart attack and was going to die (even though I heard heart attacks tend to come with chest pain) and the first two times I visited my doctor thinking something was wrong with my heart (since I have an arrhythmia I thought I might be prone to other irregularities in my heart). I just hope it doesn’t happen again because I really don’t want to experience it again but since I don’t know what triggered it, I think there is still a chance that I‘ll get a new one. I had my worst panic attack of my life last night while I was trying to sleep. I was laying down and I had a sudden jolt of energy while I was about to so sleep. I sat up and had to call my friend because I had become so scared as the same feeling of jolting awake on Christmas Eve. I called her and stood up feeling dizzy and having feelings of warmth rush over my body. I felt weak and in fear of what would happen so I had to hang up on my friend only able to talk to her for about a minute. I thought I was dying. I really thought I was having a heart attack or something as it was hard to breathe and I was having chest pain. When is calm down and get my heart to stop racing it would feel like I was losing control of my body and going limp so I had to breathe enough to make my heart rate go back up. I ended up in an ER and they did an EKG and said my heart was okay but I will probably have to take anxiety medication in small doses. I’m going to the doctor in about an hour to go see if I need medication. I wish no one had to experience anything remotely close to my panic attack

I just had one now (that’s why I’m here too) it started with a thought that I was alone in my house and what if I had one and no one was here to save me😱I was only thinking this because I had one for the first time 6 years ago, and it SUCKED! And I was only randomly thinking about it, and then immediately, out of nowhere, my heart started pounding fast and hard and started to get one again😩I immediately told myself that my thoughts literally just caused it! And told myself that It’s my brain, not my heart! And immediately went on Instagram and searched for cute baby puppy videos to get my brain thinking different, and it went away! Whooooo, that was scary! This first time this happened to me years ago, I did soo much research on this and realized that I need to have a plan if this ever happens again. Funny meme videos, funny baby videos, cute puppy videos, I don’t care! Whatever is your go to that you know will make you laugh or feel happy, save those videos and put it in a folder called “panic attack” and go straight to that while doing deep breathing, and get up, walk around, don’t sit there and think about it, don’t focus on it! CHANGE YOUR THOUGHTS! This is the first time it helped me.. I hope this helps someone else…. Cuz it really sucks when you think your gonna die.. love you all❤️

I've battled Panic Attacks and disorder for over 20 years now since I was in my late teens. Many of the first noticeable big attacks were amongst the worst I ever had. Many I've had since the mid 2000s have been mild to outright life threatening. I used to take meds to curve the attacks but dropped them 10 years ago altogether. I've had many since 2013 but none as bad as the first couple years of noticing them and then recently again the intensity of the attacks hit hard out of the blue again with me being now in my late 40s. I'll be checking up on doc trips to see about possible epilepsy and stroke or Heart ASAP!. No time is a good time for a panic attack.

I had my first panic attack on a plane home and even though it was an hour long flight, it felt like the plane was never going to land. I really thought i was going to die on that plane seat. With a person who also has social anxiety, I worried more about what the people around me would think if I had trouble breathing and that maybe I had contracted COVID-19. But my mom was next to me on that flight and she advised me to just focus on my breathing. I don't know what would have happened if my mom wasn't with me that day.

I remember crying and wheezing and praying (even though im not religious) that my parents would wake up, and i whispering to myself that someone would wake up. I have a really bad phobia and it used to cause bad panic attacks. I had to deal with them alone as my parents didn’t understand. After therapy I’m better and I still get them now and I can handle them. Mine are usually triggered by something but not always though. I get super dizzy and my heart freaks out. I usually cry too which isn’t fun. I can admit they do control my life as I constantly try to avoid things that could trigger them, such as sports for example. My parents never really understood what was wrong but I dont blame them, until recently I didn’t either. It took me 3 years to get therapy and I am so much better off, so dont wait around, if you can get help. My most recent one was a few months ago and i had my friend with and she stood by me the entire time and I handled it. Im thankful I have people to support me now and that they all understand.

i think i had my 3rd or 4th one today. the very first one was pretty weird because i couldn’t even understand what happened. everything was fine and suddenly i started to breathe deeply , felt like something bad is gonna happen and i cried. my chest did hurt too. the second one was even worse, i started to breathe so quickly , it felt like world is running out of oxygen , my heartbeat was getting quicker and quicker and with that a minor chest cramp happened. i really thought that i was having a heart attack. it’s just feels so bad , so tough when i’m having it. i don’t know if i do have panic attack yet but every resource , every sypmtoms showing me that i do possibly have it. causes overthinking and depression too. sending all my love to everyone in the world who feels exhausted and broken. you’re not alone ❤️🙏🏽🍃🌱

Great video. Be careful what you feed your mind. To feel better reduce negative thoughts and overthinking. Avoid comparing with others, reduce negative social media and avoid constipation as it affects the mind instantly. Your breathing is closely related to the brain [mind] and gives relief from stress-anxiety. To relax sit on a chair or lie down, neck straight, eyes closed, avoid moving too much and observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for 5-10-15 minutes or more. Never meditate with expectations but with awareness. Don’t fight your thoughts. With daily practice the mind will relax. No deep breathing needed. Observe your breath sensations before sleep, in college, at work, taking a walk, when reading, etc.etc. Like me, make this a lifetime daily habit to have a better life. Best wishes--Counsellor.

I’ve had a few panic attacks before but I’ve dealt with them by myself and never told anyone. Today I had my first one in the presence of someone else. I was already feeling pretty anxious with school assignments/exams, applying to transfer schools, and spring classes registration. I absolutely hate asking for money and went to ask my mom for help since she said she’d help pay for all my classes in community college. This is my last semester and I know she said she’d help but I still felt extremely bad. Once I started talking I had trouble breathing, my heart was beating really fast, my face felt really warm, and my hands started to shake, I had a water bottle in my hand so I tried drinking water but then it felt like I was gonna puke and I ended up spitting all the water out. My mom told me to look at her as she was asking questions but by that time I already had my back to her and wouldn’t dare look at her. I felt ashamed and embarrassed and left as soon as possible to my room and avoided everyone for the rest of the day. It’s a scary thing to go through, I hate feeling out of control and the constant intrusive thoughts.

I haven't experienced a panic attack myself, but I realize that an ex had panic attacks during some argument. The first time I freaked out, thought she was dying and felt terrible afterwards whinkong I caused it. However, whenever things were getting a bit salty between us, she would react like this, so I genuinely started thinking she was making it up, although I never said anything. I felt manipulated tbh, like a technique to get away with things. She never mentioned anything about those episodes, never saw a doctor, never had a conversation about getting help. Many years later I was in a relationship with another woman who had an attack right in front of my eyes during a difficult conversation. Memories starting popping into my head, and I didn't want to feel like this again so I didn't back up this time. But this girl knew what her case was. I didn't show sympathy with it because I felt that it is not genuine. Whenever things were getting intense they would be like this. I now realise that both of them were having a hard time, and I was an asshole for not believing them. I've never experienced one myself so I can't imagine what it's like, but seeing it in others now that I'm more educated about it made me realise the severity. The moral of this story is that education around metal conditions is important and we need more of it. That first ex might have not been aware about her situation, or too embarrassed to share it with me, and even though every time I did my absolute best to help, not trusting her is bad enough itself. It took another relationship with someone I didn't trust either at the time, but knew her case to realize. Education is important, educate yourselves and you loved ones.

I had experience my first panic attack recently a year or 2 ago. And I had my second one last week. And it was one of the most horrible feeling of my life. I remember laying in bed, and suddenly (randomly) my hearts starts beating so fast, as if I’ve been running a mile... Next, I’ll start to have this strong urge /feeling of worry and panic. As if I knew there was a killer trying to break into my house to kill me. Or I was about to get attacked but something. My body would kick into flight or fight mode for no reason. I would start to freak out. Mind you, on the outside I looked fine, but on the inside I was screaming, crying, scared lost.. everything. I remember I would feel out of touch with reality when I had my panic attacks.. And no matter how hard I tried to relax, it wasn’t working. It was as if I had to just wait it out until it stopped on it’s own.. My hands would start shaking. And usually my panic attacks happen when I start to stress out a lot. It triggers them more..

I have panic attacks during the day, but when I had one at night, it was terrifying. It was my first one in a very long time. I woke up feeling like I was dying and paced all around my house looking around, hyperventilating, the tingling was unreal. Lasted for a couple hours. I was horrified to go back to sleep. Called my mom and begged her to take me to the doctor. A couple months after that, they became more common. Had one a few days ago before bed. I wasn't scared because I knew what it was. Although I did feel an imending sense of doom.. Mental health issues suck

I have had panic attacks since before they were identified. As a child I was sent to see doctor after doctor, checked for epilepsy and monitored for seizures.. I can sense them building, a metallic taste in my mouth, the light headed ness, tingly feeling in my fingers before you pass out. The only remedy for me is to lie flat on the ground and ride it out. Sometime its triggered by injury or stress and sometimes no reason at all. I had one when I first meet my wife, but not at my wedding, nor at the birth of my sons. For me, it’s something that can just happen, and I accepted that. It’s a natural thing, just know the signs your body gives you and find what works to de-stress your mind, and don’t worry about what other people think. I’ve lied flat at my office, in class and on the street but it’s better than causing a different kind of scene. Don’t let it keep you from living your life, it will pass, you will get up feeling better and continue on your way!
