No they didn't. They founded a few major cities. Their cultural influence however was extremely little. The Norse living in Ireland were actually in fact absorbed into Gaelic culture rather than the other way around.

Dublin is the only accent with some amount of Norse influence. The rest of the country speak with English accents influenced by native Gaeilge.
