Radiohead and Pink Floyd are my favorite bands of all time, Sigur Ros is climbing the ladder though. I can't understand what he is saying but at the same time I can. Music is like math, it's universal.

He's actually not singing anything, even in Icelandic...Jónsi sang the lyrics of this entire album in "Vonlenska" a made-up "language" made up of meaningless words and syllables...I think the idea behind this album was to use his voice more as another instrument, which, given the fact that he pretty much repeats a handful of phrases throughout the entire album without becoming annoying/monotonous, he does magnificently...can't wait to see them in October!!!!

The wonderful thing about listening to this --and most of Sigur Ros's songs-- is that the lack of fixed subject to the song allows for freedom in interpreting the song. The beautiful piano isnt bogged down to sad love lyrics, or anything for that matter. One can just take in the sounds and choose from a vast array of messages and emotions. Freedom feels incredible!!!

It is strange how certain people fail to be mved by such beautiful music, but we all perceive beauty differently, thats what makes the world so magical, still, they are missing a trick, sigur ros transcends what most other bands do, they do more than create music, they create majestical soundscapes which soars high above most other "music" we know of, they really are one of a kind and to be treasured.
