The new Sihuadon R-108 AM FM LW Shortwave Air Band Portable Radio now Sports a beautiful Amber Backlit LCD. It is nice on the Eyes. The text Colors have now been made Bolder, and Easier to Read as well. Does the Radio perform as well as its predecessors? Yes. Really appreciate seeing a walkthrough of all the features it has vs trying to pour through the manual. I've wanted a radio that can get Aircraft frequencies for awhile, and just came across this at a thrift store. Figured for just 5$ it looked pretty premium and I'd take a chance on it. Definitely worth it.

I’m amazed with the amount of AM stations you can receive in your location. I’m in WI and can’t get much. But, I’ll be getting some radios to try out anyway.

It appears that three are 4 versions of Sihuadon R-108 altogether. I happen to have the all black color with the keypad lettering in white, but it came with the orange backlight. 📻🤔 It's an impressive pocket shortwave radio and doesn't have the harsh AGC clipping that afflicts the recent production units of the Tecsun PL-380, 310ET and PL-398MP. The only gripes I have against the R-108 is the annoying loud pop heard over earphones while switching bands, the inaccurate battery meter and the multifunction display segment which refuses to memorize the last selected mode (I have to press the display button to show the RSSI digits upon every power up cycle). The three watt speaker that comes with the R-108 is amazing though. It's the only radio of its kind and size that emits bass frequencies that I can actually feel in my hand. The only other tiny radio that has a speaker with a great low end bass response is the Retekess V-115. 😀

The orange function colour labels glow under UV light. I still enjoy the original D 808 as well.

Hej Todderbert thanks for the bandscan oh yes the Sihuadon R108 is a very nice radio and it has a amazing good speaker and this version with amber color screen is better then the white blue screen that I have one my Radiwow R108. And I personally think that the Radiwow R108 has a better speaker than the Tecsun PL-330 but Tecsun PL-330 is a very nice radio also with lovely features take care and have a nice week.

I bought this 2 months ago from Amazon Canada and it's the amber backlight like this. It was $55 CAD on sale, good price here and free shipping. So far so good and my D808 arrived 3 days ago also from China, and it's also amber backlight.

It sounds like they resolved the ticking noise on MW with this version? I have the original, unbelievably good quality for under £50, if you aren’t bothered about SSB you can’t go wrong with these 👍🏼

Hej I agree with you you get get a very good radio which does not cost that much I have the original radio Radiowow R-108 and I love this radio and the first time I got it I was so surprised by what a good audio it has and still is. I do not have the Sihuadon R108 but will definitely buy it I like the amber color it has on the screen but I have the Sihuadon D-808 take care and have a lovely week.

It is a good radio but two things bother me; when I plug in the earphones on short wave, the static level goes up considerably badly enough to illuminate weaker signals! The other thing is that in short wave mode, the speaker volume is incredibly low compared to medium wave/FM

Interesting, I have great results with mine. I use an external antenna for SW, and the volume is good.

Does this have the upgraded longer lasting battery? Think the original was 1000mah, upgrade might be 1600mah?

I've seen some labeled 1500, but the run times are similar to the 1000's.
