Chopped 100’s of acres with a NH 717 and that same 1 row cornhead. Did a lot of custom silo filling for a few yrs along with filling our own silos.

If I could only get my Wife to understand, (It's Why I keep the old equipment around on the farm in the woods or fence rows, sometime parts are parts. Does not matter who made the part, if a farmer has a welder, torch and a can-do attitude on the weekend we'll be up and running either the same day or the next morning! All Equipment Manufactures started out as Farmers, either rebuilding or making their own Ideas happen. I've fixed a lot of equipment with Green-on-Red or Yellow-On-Green or Yellow-on-Red, it doesn't matter who built it, just takes a minute to look at the part and come up with an on the farm fix!

Perfect case of never throw anything away-----may need it one of these days or decades. I think all our Dads were like yours they expected a lot out of us, great story about the sprocket and clever fix did you think about going around to neighbor farmers to beg borrow or steal a sprocket especially after they heard your story LOL
