I have the new Beretta 21A covert with a Mask HD. I'm thinking of the switchback so I can use it in the short configuration. What do you guy's think is the best choice for a small 22lr can?

So after comparing this to your review of the Dead Air Mask i don't see what's so special about this can. The mask outperformed the switchback on the 22/45 and only lagged behind the bolt action by about 2dB. However that's not a fair comparison since the CZ used for the mask has a shorter barrel than the Ruger, and longer barrels are always quieter. I'd take the can that performs better on a semi auto with no need to mess with configuration over this.

Gotta say I love my Mask. Lack of FRP is amazing and it has a super low tone once it got a little carbon layer inside.

Well clearly having a modular can is a huge positive in itself. You can put a little tiny suppressor on your pistol and have it reasonably quieter without having a full 5” or so hanging at the end of the barrel. With the mask you have no choice, it obviously has to be in the full configuration at all times. The Mask is f**king awesome, but I think cans like this may be the future.
@blc6285 жыл бұрын
@@SourPatchPuss perhaps in a larger heavier can. Personally i don't care about saving 2 to 3oz if it means it's no longer quiet. In the short config on a pistol it performed pretty poorly.
@UpcomingJedi4 жыл бұрын
@@SourPatchPuss i read that the small configuration is all but useless in reducing sound levels. So i got the Mask instead. ONE of these days ill find the time to go try it out on my new chipmunk pistol Im so disappointed the gunshop man did not know of a pistol that does not eject unless you rack the slide (high standard pistol) or know about this one.

Can the Switchback 22 be used on a 22-250
@UpcomingJedi4 жыл бұрын
No the 22 250 has wayyyy more gas volume. It will most likely end up flying off.
@zman7834 жыл бұрын
Holy shit no!!! This made me laugh, not because of the question. I don’t mind any question and there r no dumb questions. I laughed because I pictured someone shooting this on a 22/250. Lol way too much pressure and gas for it to handle. Some 223 cans aren’t even rated for 22/250 because of this.

Ever try it on a 556? I know it’s not rated for it but there are plenty of sturdy 22lr cans that will stand up to a 556 for limited firing(such as home defense)

@kzookid5456 жыл бұрын
KiLLaDaTa well... it isn’t aluminum at least lol
@Capitolarmory5 жыл бұрын
Pretty different, the length being modular isn't the big deal... it's the rifle optimization that really takes the cake. As far as the Erector, Sig's new 9mm can, and that whole "every baffle screws apart" --- that's old European technology, not used much in the US but a common design overseas.
