Remember Flashdance - welder by day, dancer by night? This guy is probably a spoon-carver by day, brain-surgeon by night such is his eye-hand coordination. I lost track of how many times I said "No way!" out loud. Like whalloping the lower axe corner in to start off the bowl. If I tried that with my G-B Swedish carver I'd lose the end off the spoon at best, a finger at worst. Truly impressive. This is really mesmerising stuff. Who'd have thought someone shaving slices off a stick of wood could be so compelling? And loving the audio, letting the tools and wood provide the music and narration.

Proof that you don't need a shop full of expensive tools. A few simple, basic, tools, and skill (practice !), and you can produce something beautiful, and, as a bonus, useful.

Incorrect! With practice, you can carve spoons as great as Barn does. What separates Barn from others is his impact on the spooncarving community; the way he has inspired many to take up this extraordinary craft.

How can you not be captivated by the passion and control, along with the functional design of the tools. That hook knife and the handle length, gave a level of leverage and control I've not seen. Admittedly I'm very new to this. Awesome video to watch.👍🤝

He should be regarded as a national treasure and studied. Because he peels away wood like an apple and can visualize the shape of his projected piece as he looks at it after each modification that his tools render to the remaining block and he strategizes how the next cuts will affect the shape
