Hi Nyiddle, I'm having issues with the text storage: I click to get the car text on screen, and then hit my quicksave button, but the quick save text never appears. When I click on the car again after quicksaving with no text on screen, the Game Saved text disappears immediately. I've tried clicking them in very quick succession, and even at the same time, and still can't seem to get it. My initial thought was that the Enhanced Edition devs "fixed" this, but seeing folks speedrunning EE I figure maybe that's not the case. There didn't seem to be an option for it in the EE configurations. Am I just doing something wrong? Happy to share more about my setup or how I'm trying to do it. Also, it looks like when you have "GAME SAVED" on the screen, it should be resetting James' stamina - like while running through the Forest - but I've never been able to get this to work on my version (across multiple different computers). Is this perhaps because I've never been able to get the text storage working?

There are some settings you need to change in the SH2EE config. The settings have changed a small amount, but the main one that you likely have on is the "fix quick save" which I think is in the misc. tab. I go over all my settings in the start of this video, I'd check to make sure all the relevant ones match.

@@Nyiddle Thank you for the reply. I looked through my folder, and I actually can't seem to even find the EE config. I definitely have it installed, but I'm wondering if it got screwed up by my saving the whole Silent Hill 2 folder to a hard drive and then putting it on a new computer years later... When I brought it over and opened it, it gave me a pop up that asked me to update Enhanced Edition, which seemed to do the trick to get EE working, but unfortunately I don't seem to have access to the configs?

For the controller settings "Un-equip Weapon" you have it set as Button 29, what button is that? Also how do I add turbo? Would I need to buy a turbo controller?

I don't use that in the run, it's just something I never unbound (and Button 29 probably doesn't exist on my controller.)

You can bind it to any available controller button that's comfortable for you, yeah.

how do you hold quick save on text storage? It always goes away for me unless I tap repeatedly

I use Steam Input for my controller and launch SH2EE through Steam. Through that I have quicksave set on a turbo button so that I can hold X to quicksave instead of mashing it repeatedly. I confirmed it was okay with the moderators in the Discord before doing it, as mashing quicksave isn't a particularly skill-based thing.
