To me adding commentary isn't that bad as long as it's relevant. What i hate is then the stream is talking to chat about something completely different or constantly thanking someone for donating $5.00 or bits or whatever they are called. To each there own I guess. No commentary is also good to me for certain games.

There's already full breakdown of the game, some are more than a decade old. You can watch those. I'm sure there will be full breakdowns of this remake, as there are changes that were made, but they'll likely focus on similararites and differences rather than metaphors, lore, myths or anything like that

I truly appreciate this game. Played a lot growing up. But this studio did one hell of a job. The opening really hits different when you have seen the whole game. The trembling hands were done great, the “I can’t bare to look at my reflection” look is perfect. Everything about this game is *chefs kiss*😊

Developers who make remakes are theft developers making other people's work I hope you don't do that and make your own games and own story and own IP, overreliance on remakes stifles creativity within the industry and prevents original storytelling from flourishing.

@@derekb4977didnt they get permission from Team Silent, I dont think they are definitive anymore so the rights go to Konami. I think its a great gesture to remake a game into modernity in rememberance of Team Silent

I remember playing this game when it first came out. The ambience caused me so much anxiety since nothing really happened in the beginning. I was already a big fan of the first so I was expecting the worst but instead, the game played with my mind and I learned that I was expecting less than the game actually gives. Good memories. Also, I remember that in second or third (?) play through you find a chainsaw at the ranch.

What makes this such a sick game (besides eerie sounds, graphics, and creepy crawlers) is the fact that James walks towards all the creepiness and blood smears. He crawls right through the holes in the walls where seemingly someone or something was dragged. He does this fearlessly and slays the creatures like a badass. It really feels like a nightmare that just goes on and on.

THEY USED THE OLD SPRITE FOR JAMES’S FACE IN THE MIRROR!!! That’s fantastic, they knew it was probably the dealbreaker for most people if they botched the mirror scene. So they just didn’t redo it! THEY PUT THE OLD JAMES IN THE MIRROR. I love it.❤

As of 10/22/2024 the game is hard locked and unable to be finished due to a bug in the labyrinth where the doors to the hallways after the cube puzzles refuse to open

Man i was feeling stressed and down right annoyed watching the Mannequins in Wood Side Apartments and i wasnt even the one playing the game! Could be my imagination but they seem way more aggressive in the remake. Also to add, James VA is amazing during the stomping/kill animations sounds like real effort, frustration feels real.

I actually prefer it with commentary because you want to hear people interpret what they are seeing. Or the inverse of someone who knows these games inside and out can give additional context for those who may not. P,us reactions to things are interesting. A commentary playthrough on this channel would have ,it's of extra info. Don't need a full playthrough maybe just highlighting the interesting things, Easter eggs and changes. Why not just play the game yourself if you don't want to hear the opinions or interpretations of others. I mainly used this to jump around and see different parts of the game before buying even though I was going to anyway, the prison looks way more terrifying and it was the scariest most oppresive area of the original game. The seem to have done a god job all around and especially the nightmare world which was a concern of mine. The dark version of the town looks great too and the game is just darker than I thought it would be in general. Glad they aren't holding back. Here's hoping thet remake sh1

I do like commentary sometimes too actually though, but I don't like many commentators, jacksepticeye is just annoying, most KZbin gamers are just annoying, I only really like mrgstar321

I may consider commentary playthroughs in future, but I didn't want my first playthrough to be reactionary for the camera or an audience over my own enjoyment of it. I also use these non commentary playthroughs for my other videos as b roll so it's dual purpose for me really. Good thoughts though - this was on PS5 and it was extremely dark but quite fitting in most places!
