As others have pointed out, this is the island created as set dressing for the Rebirth Ending, hence the lack of collision. The only secret about it is that church front texture. I wonder if that's a leftover from the beta (cult?) church Dahlia is seen running in in the Silent Hill 1 intro (since it doesn't quite seem up to SH2 building facade quality), or if it was newly created for SH2. Either way, I would guess Team Silent weren't happy with how it looked (it's rather lacking in depth, and the fake depth in the doorway doesn't work very well), hence it normally going unseen.

Well, this is very interesting... because San Pedro (Saint Peter in English) is a major saint: was the most outstanding of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus and the first Pope; so maybe the meaning for this "Secret Island" could be that is the only Safe place from the horror of Silent Hill curse

For example: when I get the Leave ending and giving it's the "good+" ending, it tells how James and Mary eventually came to a peaceful conclusion and James moved on in life with Laura to adopt her in favor of Mary. However, I don't consider the murder thing relevant after James's last meeting with Mary.

Theres a fog removal hack, I'd recommend it, you see a lot of hidden little islands like this. (sorry i have no idea where to find it, lost the rom on my pc and the hacks that came with it earlier this year :c)

The amount of optimization and camera angles to fake the rendering is incredible, lol. Back when you couldn't waste hardware, games were actually playable without the need of a 600€ GPU. Anyways, SH2's camera is so hateable ughh, glad it got partly fixed in 3

You need the pc version to do this and a cheat software. You need the Historical Society key right after meeting Maria for the first time, you can get it with the cheat software. When you met Maria don´t go to the bowling, go straight to historical society and that's all.
