This was the first Silent Hill thing I ever saw during the hardest time of my life. When I heard the music I knew I had to play all of the games, and I knew I was going to become obsessed with them. SH4 is still my favorite one and I played all of the classic ones during many nights while drinking. They helped me to overcome so much and I'll be forever grateful for them!

I'm curious. But how did it helped you? Is it just escapism? I mean any other games, sure, but due to the nature/themes of the game, the grotesque enemies etc it would've made it worse for me

@@hanh7395 Very good question. It was a form of escapism yes but also a form of comfort. I was going through a very dark moment mentally, terrible thoughts and whatnot, and for me seeing very fucked up creatures and themes gave me a comforting feeling, like being told that my thoughts aren't as twisted as what I was seeing. Then hearing Heather in SH3 say that in life you either fight or go under despite what she went through was a great moment for me, very inspiring.

I would say Origins is the most underrated. 4 receives a lot of love from the SH community.

Deserved as underrated. It is just slightly better than homecoming. The first three are the better ones, in which I don't even have a preferred one. But after that none of then is explicitly and agreeably better generally in community. 4, Homecoming, Downpour, and 0. We don';t even accept shattered memes.

Probably the last time I can vividly remember being scared by a game, I was 11 and I remember thinking why are headless levitating zombies so much more terrifying than normal zombies

I like that every time you come back to your room you'll find more and more clues in solving the mysteries in the game and the apperance of a certain area changes every return, also liked the first person take on this version

Such profound sound design and mixing, never gets old. For a PS2 trailer and given it's time, this absolutely delivered. Akira Yamaoka is a genius.

I bought SH4 for the OG Xbox upon release & it instantly became one of my favorite SH games. Though many people didn't like it for whatever reason.

I was 16 when I discovered this trailer (and I was a fan of the 3 first ones). 18 years later, this trailer is still amazing and disturbing to watch. A truly masterpiece. And the game is really incredible in terms of horror.

Going from demonic-esq monsters to ghosts and hauntings is a different take on horror that SH has never done. Henry is not that great either. I can see why some didn't like it back then.

Many people mentions this delivery does not feel like real Silent hill but for me this one it gave me that true level of concern that all horror game should have, with heavy stories and it made me think how much psychological damage can a human being suffer if he or she does not have the basics in his or her life, "a mother and a father"; such an interesting game

My personal favorite game after Shattered memories. It conveys a unique vibe, a feeling of loneliness and something lost. Especially when you play alone in an apartment and see a very similar picture in the game The first SH that did not scare me when playing, but gave me a feeling of comfort

Absolutely incredible.I didn’t liked it at first way back in 2004 maybe cuz i was so used to the first 3 games prior, and then the room was very different, but over time i gave it another chance and now i will always defend this game! There’s definitely a masterpiece here. Lol especially when you consider what games came later 😂. The room is like SH2 to all of them (homecoming,Origins, shattered m and downpour)
