It was a perfect storm that came out just right, and any attempts at "improving" it (like the supposedly "fixed" voice acting in the HD Collection, and the 3rd person view they seem to be going for in the remake rather than fixed camera perspective which takes away from the atmosphere and makes it seem like a generic 3rd person shooter) are inevitably gonna take away at least some of qualities that made it so great in the first place. Curious to see how they're going to have a Silent Hill story set outside of Silent Hill, or apart from any characters connected to the original problems of Silent Hill, and still have it make sense. One of the biggest problems of the writing in later Silent Hill stories, is that they completely misunderstood the work of Team Silent, this being especially evident in Downpour. We don't want a repeat of those failures.
