@yngvardtherotten66123 жыл бұрын
@@secondson312 Well, I think this Terminal is the sequel of Trilogy, as you can see from the lyrics and some scenes of Terminal music video. First of all, Trilogy was about anxiety, mental hospitalization, loss with reality, auditory hallucination, and/or delusion (this is according from Garrett's explanation on his instagram on Feb 14th 2020 and from the lyrics its self). I'm not sure whether the guy in that desert is the same guy in Terminal or not, but I think he's the same guy. This story continue in this Terminal, that guy is in the hospital now and he's still have the disorientation, visual hallucination, and somekind of memory with the woman he loved. Back to Trilogy, that song was written when Garrett in the mental hospital and it was according to his experienced when he tried to become human again (he said it on his tweet, Feb 8th 2020). In conclusion, these 2 songs have a strong connection between each other, at least that is my opinion. Feel free to give your thoughts about my opinion or about these 2 songs.

Oh my god I'm so sorry brother. Prayers going out for you and your family my friend, sincerely. If I may, I'm going to share some unsolicited advice - all of which has helped me when I've experienced grief. Be sure to lean on one another thru this undoubtedly painful time of your lives, reassuring that you're not alone thru any of this. I know it may appear impossible, but, try to focus on whatever silver lining you can find in this incredibly dark cloud of a situation - even if it's simply the fact that finally, her pain is gone and she will never have to feel ANY degree or type of pain ever again. I can't stress this enough, but, please remind yourself that eventually this pain that you are now feeling WILL eventually pass! Keep your head up my friend, and make your life a memorial to her that she can smile down upon. Remember whatever it is that she would have wanted you to do in this life... Cherish that, utilizing it as a reminder for you to press on, despite the pain or how badly you may want to throw in the towel sometimes. Now, obviously I do not know what your spiritual beliefs are, but, you will be reunited with her eventually! Except, when that happens, she will no longer be afflicted or feel any pain or any kind - and neither will you! Blessings to you and your family, And best wishes to you brother. 🙏

"All these pills won't scratch the surface if the cancer's in my soul" Holy fuck man 😢. Those lyrics are both haunting beautiful and brutally honest. One of the best songs I've ever heard.

First time hearing this and just read the lyrics. This song came out the day my father in law died from Covid :(. He was a pastor for 30 years and retired Air Force, the greatest man I've ever met. I must say, this song is more than music, its a emotional journey through pain, sadness and growth. Everyone has this stigma on mental health like its a problem that we sweep under the rug. Society doesn't understand how lonely mental health can be for friends, family and or yourself. The meaning of this song is so powerful and moving we will truly never understand the struggle that Garrett must have gone through the past few years. To be able to express this in a song is second to none and gives hope to the millions of people out there that are struggle every moment and every day with the pain of this world. Please continue to put songs out like this, you are doing more for people than you will ever probably understand. May God bless you each and every day gents, thank you!

I feel compelled to write a breakdown of this songs meaning, so I'll do it later today. But in a nutshell it's about chronic mental illness and treatment, and how it's experienced from the inside out. I know this may not be the actual intent of the song but as someone who used to self medicate with drugs to cope with trauma and mental illness. The line “These pills won’t scratch the surface if the cancer’s in my soul. Am I terminal?” Even now seeking psychiatric help and therapy I’ve fallen from grace far too many times to count. And I wonder in my weakest moments if I’m always destined to be this way? That’ll I’ll never have a grip on my sanity? But music like yours. Music of history. Of the scriptures. Telling the untold stories of the marginalized the exploited and the misunderstood has been a constant reminder to keep pushing because maybe there’s someone out there with the same struggle relating to this song in the way that I am. Silent Planet will now and forever be one of my favorite bands of all time. I still have your Heal Me Shirt after it went back in stock and I wear it every week. And there’s some eventual real estate on my skin alongside Coheed and Deftones

I think I understand the meaning of the video. The man was a lost soul wandering to find contentment and something that could fill the void in his soul. He thought he found it in the girl that he held close, but she was just like a medication to treat a sickness inside of him (a "cancer in his soul"), like a temporary relief to a permanent pain/scar. She was that pick me up to make himself feel better about himself, a self-medicated cure to an untreatable illness, but he was just tying himself up in bondage and leaving the wound to fester and the void remained. She was like a drug, something that brought temporary relief but left him in a worse state than the start. She wasn't what he really needed to fill the void and so the void remained and consequently the sickness inside of him only worsened and he became an emotional wreck, worse off than he was from the start. Deep. Portrays the lives of a lot of lost souls of today who try to find contentment in relationships and their worth in the approval of others. People who look for love in all the wrong places but can never find it because they left it behind.
