How do you get the vinyl to be smooth onto the plate? It is melted in, right? Not a sticker?

Hello Laura & Good Morning ! To get the vinyl smooth, you would use your burnishing tool to smooth out your vinyl as you lay it down on your plate just as you would do on any other surface you add vinyl too. When doing plates, it is very important to go slowly and smooth out as you go along so that you avoid any bubbles in your vinyl. =) No, the vinyl isn't melted in, the vinyl I use is Oracal 651, which is a permanent vinyl with an adhesive backing. Once placed onto the plate, the vinyl isn't going anywhere !
