Amazing. Thank you! The printer was the issue. I measured and found a 3mm deviation in the placement of the bottom left corner. Quickly realized that of youre a perdectionist, dont be in a hurry and youre not gonna save space or time cramming a lot of designs on the paper, or printing 10 sheets at a time. I also think that there is something glitchy with the most recent software update. I got a brand new laptop and I could not for the life of me get print and cut to work ( I'm very familiar with it as I have been making stickers for almost 4 years) but it was working PERFECTLY with my old laptop..so perfect that I could even cut in the dark.. I was getting frustrated with my new laptop, I was gonna return it.. then I was working on my old one and updated the software on that one and I was having the same issues I was with the new laptop. So I figured it was the software update..so I downgraded to the Legacy version and surprise surprise, BOTH my laptops are print and cutting PERFECTLY.

Not sure if you can help me, but my registration marks are being read correctly however it starts cutting perfectly top part but it slightly moving it down, so the lower half of the design the design is cut lower, it is weird cus top half is right and bottom half not

Thank you so much for this tutorial. The thing that was messing up the cutting of my stickers was a led light that is located on the ceiling on top of my silhouette machine. I turned it off before sending the work to cut and now the cutting is so accurate!! This was awesome, thank you! Since you mentioned printers, I would like to add in my 2 cents. If you do a lot of printing it's worth your money to spend more to buy a printer with ink tanks instead of one that uses ink cartridges. Printer companies sell cheap printers at cost and then make the ink super expensive, but ink tank printers are more upfront but the ink is cheaper. As an Etsy sticker shop owner, I would never go back to ink cartridges. Not only is it most cost-effective, but I don't have to worry about changing out the ink cartridges twice a week.

I've installed the software on my new laptop and was pulling my hair out as I couldn't do print and cut which is the majority of what i use my machine for. yay! thank you so much. My cutter all of a sudden wasn't cutting evenly around the stickers. It wound up to be an issue with the printer! I had put a wad of copy paper in it and the sticker paper was being printed slightly off due to it. Check out this video it talks about why the top left registration mark may not be found - either printing too high (b/c the material is being grabbed too late) or not covering the grid line on the cutting mat.

im cutting using cameo in total darkness with no light at all because the sensor of cameo is infrared light thats why it can cut even in the absence of light. try it and you will know it. thats why shadow is no big deal what the bigdeal is over poweing light.

I did all you said for the settings, however my design is still not cutting out right. The top portion cuts out great but the bottom part is off. It’s not going for by much but it’s cutting off some of the design. Could my printer be too old it’s an HP envy 4500 and I have a silhouette cameo printer

Hi there! If you have overhead lights make sure that you're not getting shadows. The shadows could be causing misreads in the registration marks.

You do give some excellent tips. However, if you look at the two sheets at around 9:20, it's not that the registration printed lower, the entire sheet is spaced differently. If you use the same tab to send both of these to the cameo, of course, one will cut wrong because the send file is not the same. Once you put registration marks on the page, you can not make any adjustments at all, including mirroring. I finally figured this out with stickers and with sublimation after a few random mishaps.

So i wanted to cut a 5" by 5" square with words in to put in the centre of the cushion but only the words have printed off and not the square shape. I am having an issue with the registrations marks being read and then the Cameo project "completes" and goes to "unload" mode without cutting. Please, please help! I have followed ALL the instructions on this video, however, my bottom left and top right marks still are not registering correctly. I'm not a print and cut novice, I've been doing this for years. Recently all my cut jobs have been off and I've tried so many things to fix it. I did everything you said to in this video, I also recalibrated my machine per the instructions on your blog. My cut lines are still situated too high, cutting off as much as 25% along the bottom of my stickers. It seems to get worse on the right hand side of the sheet and even more so at the bottom of the sheet while the top left stickers are *almost* (but not quite) perfect. Any other suggestions or do I just need to contact Silhouette at this point?

Hi I have a big trouble. My machine can find the registration marks but it does not cut on the border line. I have A4 paper type so I pick A4. I put 1 sheet of paper in the printer. THANK YOU!! I didn't realize that the design couldn't be in the hashed area at all. Once I covered up the design that was, it registered the right marks and cut perfectly! I removed my little piece of paper that covered the design that was on the hashed area after it registered, but before it cut!

Hello! I have a huge problem where the cut will sometimes be 0.5 to 1mm off (on my portrait 3) to the right or to the left randomly, and sometimes it’s perfectly centered. The calibration is perfectly centered and the lenght of the line too.

This video was very helpful - and if I'm always using "letter sized" paper, it works great. The print border is on the right side of the page and I want to move it to the left, it's not allowing me to. I'm using a Cameo Plus and using the 15x15 cutting mat the media size is 12x12.

The print areas are controlled through your print manager so you will need to make the adjustments there (File > Print) then from the Silhouette Studio Page Setup panel change the Page Size to "printer" so it matches

I’m having a faint grayish shadow not of my pics I’m cutting, but it just shows upon parts of the paper. And when I go to cut it cuts it, then it go’s through my stickers cutting them wrong. Hello, I just got the cameo 4 plus and I'm trying to print and cut Honey labels. I designed the labels Inkscape and exported as PNG from 320dpi down to 250dpi, but no matter what I do, it comes out printing horribly from silhouette studio. Very fuzzy and pizelated. Any suggestions to get me going? This would be a huge deal breaker for me since I need to design my own labels and can't use stock graphics. Thank you!

Any tips if your cut is slightly off when you don't do an offset? I find I have to trim a bit of white off one side of my image. The cut is not right on the image, but 1/16 off from the image, so you see the white paper between the image and the cut.

Yes, it's b/c the line has a weight so it's printing. Reduce the line weight to 0.0 or make the line color transparent.

What if none of those are the issue?😭 my cameo pro was printing and cutting just fine, no changes or anything and now… it’s SO off.

When I print it out, on the bottom left of the page, it only prints the vertical line. Doesn't print the horizontal line at all. When I go to cut it out the cuts are way out of alignment. I restored to original settings and it didn't fix the problem. What do I do next? I need help.

Problem fixed. I had it printing on the A4 setting, not 8.5 x 11. Oops!

My cameo 4 makes a weird noise when I cut transparent sticker paper, then it cuts very improperly , and unaligned. Maybe my settings are to high or the adhesive on my Matt is fading away ? What do you think ?

In your send panel, are your cut lines turned on? Ask me how I know that can be the issue 😅

What happens if your register lines are on opposite sides? ... because I don't know how to fix that when I print it outing my epson sublimation printer

Hey there! You will need to turn off automatic mirroring in your Epson print settings.

This may have been answer but does getting a new mat affect this process? I have gotten silhouette mats before (super sticker and regular) everytime I have to adjust and unfortunately waste nice paper. Suggestions? Also love your page I have been following you since 2020. please can you help me I have recently purchased the silhouette cameo 4 my very first machine of any kind. I have been checking out your you tube videos but Ive noticed that my programme is not the same as your one even though I have downloaded the most recent version and I have purchased the Business Edition. I can't find half of the setting you describe and the layout is not the same at all

my cameo 3 reads the registration marks just fine then right before it goes to set the blade depth it stops at the corner of the cutting matte and the screen says job complete.please help

It sounds like you might need to turn on your cut lines in the send panel.

@@SilhouetteSchool yes that is exactly what it was. I’ve been using the cameo sine 2016 and I couldn’t believe how stupid i felt when I finally realized my cut line wasn’t active.Thank you very much for the reply.
