Hey Melissa…glad to see you are always up to date on all the latest crafting tech…I just started using my cameo 3 to make templates for my router…started making router bowls and trays for christmas…also just looking at CNC machines and how similar they are…just a new avenue for us guys to make some sawdust…haha…Anyway thanx for all you post.

Do you need a seperate pixscan mat with this machine?

The same pixcan mat will work with the CAMEO 5 as other machines

I CANNOT FIGURE OUT WHY my mat isn't being pulled in far enough to NOT cut the mat, but the actual VINYL!!! I've only used this 5 a few times... theres no dust nothing blocking the sensor that I can see ... its NEW! lol and the last time I used it , just gave up! now here I am again... same issues! it cuts the mat and not the vinyl... AND... IF you could also advise to the update pending .. for version 5.0.080 .. I know so many were talking about a particular version and now, since its been forever.. is this version safe to INSTALL??? thanks!!!!!

If your Silhouette Cameo 5 isn't pulling the cutting mat all the way in and is cutting into the mat instead of the vinyl, it's likely due to issues with the roller mechanism, either because the rollers aren't gripping the mat firmly enough, the mat is not loaded properly, the rollers are dirty or damaged, or the cutting mat itself might be worn out and not providing enough grip to prevent slippage.

@ well I don’t think any of that applies here, the Cameo 5 I bought last Christmas and only used it maybe 3 times? The mat is new, and the rollers seem to be pulling, but when it loads the mat, it just barely pulls it in and I have to do my best to manually roll it in further and over some.. then it cuts typically without issues.. I’ll look at the rollers again, and thanks for your comment and advice! If this isn’t the case, what should I do? Any other suggestions??? Thank you again!!!

I can't get the autoload option to work

Press the up arrow on the screen so it blinks...then place the mat/material over the small square sensor and wait about 3 seconds.
