Sill Rocker Rust Repair (EASY Small Panel Fabrication!)

In this episode Matt continues the restoration welding work on our VW MK1 caddy pickup. Today he's repairing the front corner of the outer sill, fabricating a replacement section out of 2mm thick steel using basic tools.

I need you in my life! No homo haha. Working on a 98 civic, inner rear arches are/were shot, no repair panels available either. I'm on the struggle bus making them as i have no reference to how they once were. Top repair work also btw, subbed

Nice work, gave up on a caddy that was too rotten a couple of years back. Wondering what thickness sheet you're using there? looks mighty thick in the video.

Cheers for the comment! This caddy actually looked pretty decent when we bought it, and think it is by UK standards. It's 2.5mm steel, or maybe it was only 2mm... either way it shouldn't be rotting out again soon! 👍
