LETS US KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS ON THE SILO S2 PREMIERE - Is Juliette better or worse off?
@walkingonwater19673 күн бұрын
Juliette only fell 3 lvls before hitting the water
@walkingonwater19673 күн бұрын
which makes me think, how did she get back to the other side seeing as she would have to walk back up.

If the Silo's are identical --- that means this new silo has SIGNIFICANTLY flooded

I respect the show for going slow. It makes everything feel RAW. I felt like I was juliet, and experiencing her frustration. If it was sped up, the realness would be gone. I feel like I'm actually there, and thats great

Glad you like it, I'll read your feedback on the next pod --- however it's killing me because its the opposite of the page-turning pulse of the book that I loved.

I give it 8 triple Bs - Bouncy Busted Bridges. Minus 1 because we didn't get episode 2 and I wanted some action, not just a stretched out dungeon crawl. Minus another 1 because I'm not a fan of flashbacks - I think they're just lazy story telling (and in this case way too on point: "I had to find my way in the dark, you can too", Jules has to find her way in the dark...) I share Catfish's misgivings about the atmosphere in the silo. Mechanical is about a mile underground (144 levels, 50ft per level...), and so it really needs to be treated like a mine. It's gonna naturally fill with water (check), unless it's continually pumped out. Even IT on level 33 is over 500 metres down. Now I'm no mining engineer, but it's got to be pretty noxious down there with all the ventilation shut off... Jules should be holding up a canary, yet alone a torch! BTW if you watched the season 2 trailer with subtitles on, you'll know who the guy behind the door is - they name checked him.

Triple B's? Oh of course. "stretched out dungeon crawl" lol.

I've been wondering about how the show will handle Shift for a while... still don't know how they'll manage

@DoublePMedia I hope they give us some, I think it was possibly the best book of the series myself. But I understand how narratively it will be difficult. Ps I'm also trying to be polite and not say too much

Only thing I didn’t really care for in this episodes was the flashbacks, I felt like we covered all that in the first season. Was wondering why go back again but it ended up making sense

Hah I also thought “my survivors…” was written on the door, but it apparently says “any survivors…”, which makes a lot more sense looking back hehe. I didn’t realize it till I saw another video where they read it as “any”

Yep, those poor people didn't get rescued because of poor penmanship :)

I actually like the TV series more, *because* of that very table setting. I read the book after season 1 and it felt really rushed to me. Also, I enjoy the fact that its only 1 episode per week. I like having time to think about things, watch videos about what other people noticed, liked and not liked. So... to each his own.
@DoublePMedia4 күн бұрын
Thank you for this feedback. I like 1 episode per week ... yet in this particular case, not sure this episode satisfied me after we've waited for a year & a half for season 2.

To be honest, Jules’ part in the book is slowed down in pace because most of the action is back in silo 18. This episode was ok, and the flashback is also faithful to the book, but her task was changed to junk picking/ recycling instead of carrying some cables. My concern is not the bridge, it’s the level of the water. All I can say is, it shouldn’t be than high and close to level 34.
@DoublePMedia5 күн бұрын
I had the same thought about the how high the water has gotten, but didn't want to mention for fear of that being a *spoiler*. Jules' story did slow down did a bit in the book, yet Hugh Howey made Juliette's chapters REALLY short. Some as short as 3 pages. That kept the pace and pages turning for the readers

I agree that the 10 minutes of unnecessary flashbacks were too much filler, especially since the episode was only 40 mins.

Pretty sure this episode is the second half of Wool. That does mean this could be two seasons per book. But I think it’s reasonable.

Well first season was alot of setup of characters and world building.
