I have a similar theory that you did. Meadows did have a unauthorized child, but the father wasnt Bernard. Bernard found out and took it away from her. That's why Meadows resigned as his Shadow as well as the cause of her drinking. and its why Bernard lets her get away with having contraband. Its not love just guilt.

Yeah, this is still one of my favorite shows but ep 2 was kinda anticlimactic, felt like a second premiere and was very unsatisfying given the ending of the previous episode. Not a fan of being taken away from Jules for an entire episode.

The big bald guy is being set up to have a change of heart but he has blood on his hands with being Bernards lackey and punched Juliette in the stomach. I have no sympathy for him when he dies. Don’t care if he’s a father and a husband he deserves the worst. As does Bernard
