The video on the harddrive with the flock of birds in formation looks too conveniently similar to what Holston saw when he left the silo. My daughter and I are convinced that what he was seeing was a display. At first we thought they were perhaps knocked out and then replaced by some long term mannequins or something, however, after watching the hard drive video and holston's view we're now convinced what his helmet was showing him was that hard drive video.

How does anyone enjoy this show? It's so dumbed down and slow. The first two episodes are intriguing but they refuse to answer any questions just to keep people on a wire. Juliette is the most brooding and unlikeable character ever. The only sympathetic character was Allison and she's killed immediately.

I thought quite a few questions where answered. Humanity killed itself with nano bots. The silo's are meant to create docile humans without strife that are afraid of small technology. That is why no magnification or books are allowed. Silo 1 is filled with humans from the nano war ready to kill the silo if it does not listen to the pact. That is why IT guy is so afraid. Everyone dies: the end.

i never knew this was a book series until i flew to yt to watch the review/reactions. that it is a series- and that there are answers in some form, for me, a first time watcher, is JOYOUS (i hope) even if it means no series and audiobook only, i was MESMERIZED, seriously. very little sleep, lots of extended silo viewings, and now SO obsessed with this story and this world. as someone who did not know about the book series and went in blind, i really really loved it, even the parts in the middle that seemed like "why is this important?" i could feel like it would turn out having significance. HUGE payoff with the tape. thank you for making this video, and for idk asking what my "type" of viewer thought

I was really hoping that they didn't kill off characters so quickly. I also don't understand how Sheriff Nelson got to get the harddrive. Also it would've been nic eif they showed him going to medical to hide the harddrive. Except they didn't leave my suspense in this tv series. I would've also liked to have seen Jules build up a revolution before they sent her out ot clean so quickly. She was only Sheriff for 5 serconds. They don't tell us why Walk was afraud to step out of her door for 25 years. It would've been also nice to see Jules looking more into the harddrive and gaining more knowledge of what was on there. Kind of silly that George just committed suicide. Very lame. I also don't understand why they wanted Marnes dead. They don't show who poisoned Marnes water. It would've also been nice if they could show what interacation those two had after she was placed in psych unit and him hiding the hard drive in her room Hildebrandt and Holston. They don't show how Holston figured out there were cameras in the rooms. Writers and Directors please give us m ore of a backstory to your tv series. Other than that, thanks for the new tv series, and look forward to season 2. Peace.

My wife and I read the books as well and I really appreciate you doing a full season review without spoilers. Almost every other search, I did showed the typical ending explained type title, which is usually just a full synopsis. not really an ending explained anyways. Frakin click bait. As a person brought up in Poland in the 80s, I find the concept of the show old and dated. We had a movie made, i think, in 1986, that takes place in apostapocalyptic silo. The movie is Seksmisja and is a cult comedy in Poland. Even the ending is pretty much the same. So, I find the series boring.

Omg! A well done, relatively polished series with the exception of the bimbo Jules character portraying the sheriff …….good heavens her character was so frustrating as she ran around 1/2 cocked, making really bad decisions endangering everyone around her so she can be some avenging hero!!…..the stupid mistakes she makes throughout this series is preposterous and outlandish ……and quite frankly the actress Rebecca what’s her name is ever so irritating and annoying! Season 2 will not be out until 2025?! How dumb is that? By that time all will be forgotten and any anticipation and excitement will have dwindled considerably……….I think it’s ridiculous to have to wait as much as 2 years for these seasons to continue!

I'm a long time fan of the books, in fact, started reading them with the very first "short story" format and anxiously awaited the release of each new issue, and bought the "omnibus" issues as they were released. My biggest question is: Did they butcher the source material/characters the way Amazon did with that steaming dung pile they call rings of power? Please let this beloved series NOT fall victim to the woke mind virus and ulterior agenda! Simply put I'm hoping it's true to canon.

am addicted to this series. i thought about writing a book about some world catastrophe and then everyone has to hide in bunkers. There are actually rich people who have paid millions to live in a luxury bunker. thought it would make interesting viewing. i dunno why it reminds me of blade runner as they talk of relics...of things in the past that seem so mysterious that can make them understand their existence. Lots of these dystopian movies are like that, it;s as if they are missing something and the present isn't enough for them. i am wondering whether to read the books. so interesting the writer started on the kindle direct publishing. i just love the set, it is gorgeous

Really enjoyed your review. As someone who hasn't read the books, I felt 50/50 drawn in by the first episode. I feel the acting was decent, the story was interesting but not super compelling. I'm sure the series answers more questions than simply "why can't the they go outside" but from the first episode, that's really all I care about. I don't care about the pregnancy or the founders or whatever. So I'm not decided if I'll continue but your review has helped me think a bit more about it.

You say they have been down there for many generations but if it’s only 140 years ago, there would be elderly people living that had parents that lived in the “outside world” and many of them would of had grandparents alive in the outside world. Edit: great job the review tho! This is something I was thinking when watching the show tho, that is not “many generations” and they should have made it 200 years ago.

I enjoyed the series except for Common. His acting is terrible. The rest of the acting is absolutely superb but Common's is just too over the top, too gangsta, and distractingly dismal. His portrayal subtracts from the show.

I read every book. Including all fan fiction. The absolute best modern sci fi/dystopian books I’ve read. This Apple TV series has gripped me the same way as the books. It’s very rare a video from book lives up to the book. They nailed Silo! As I watch the series, everything my imagination saw while I read, plays out on the screen exactly as I imagined it. Really hoping they continue the series.

How to americanize every good book when making a series? A few simple rules: 1) Add a lot of police. A LOT! - the book has only 4, but I guess your target audience is not ready for that ! :) 2) Add a lot of crime. A LOT! - crime is not a problem in the book silo, but - of course - in the series its the main activity. Something you need all that police for? 3) Forget the original story, just make it a love thing between a weird clever guy and strong female character. People, grow up! 4) Add a villain that dominates the story and - as we all know - will spectacularly loose in the end. Some grenade blowing him to bits or a slow motion fall off the stairs into the void ... Apart from that I like the series, its watchable, entertaining. But it has lost all the ingenuity and finesse of the books because someone always thinks that their audience - Americans - are not ready for shocking concepts: less guns, less crime, less violence, less police, less politics, less fixation on sex - you know, all the things that are quite common in many developed areas of the world. Its sad that this is still the kind of protection these wimps need :)))

Season one was OK, season two is quite boring. The real problem is that since the outside world is off limits, the show literally has nowhere to go. So it becomes predictable and trite. All in all, mediocre at best.

Ok so hear me out. I get that everyone wants to cram black people into movies and tv shows. I don’t care so much. It’s not even representative of the population. Black men are what 7% of the population but if you only watch tv and movies you would think they were like 40%. Fine it’s kinda distracting but fine. But the one place that you need 100% of one race is silo. Or like Star Trek. Silo is hundreds of years old. Hi dreads of years of the same people breeding and breeding out the very black as well as the whitest. It adds so many questions when you have not only black people but very black African people. I wouldn’t mind if it was all black but it would have to be a race of people that look similar. Like those ethnically ambiguous people. And it would have been cool to see her go to another silo and have the people there be their own kind of race of people. Idk I’m sure that might be hard to cast but how do you explain Whesley snipes people. With cracker ass cracker people

The books have a very specific story as to where it is going and history of it. Color isn't an issue. The series follows that story.

@@TheRubyTuesday yea but color has to be an issue. Hundreds of years of interbreeding and you would end up with rashida jones. The Allison character. Caramel colored actors at the very least light skinned black people and certainly no pale characters despite the silo and lack of sun. The Houston character is even a terrific actor it’s not a big complaint but it’s just a fact. Like having Whoopi’s Goldberg in Star Trek. There is no way a woman that dark would be in that environment
